Hi Taneka, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Growing up, I always wanted to be an ultrasound technician. After starting college, I realized that was not my passion. I learned that management/business was what I loved. After graduating college in 2016, I worked in my career field for a couple of years and then decided to start my own business. I learned many things in college about business that I am using now to run my businesses. My first business was Lime Light Beauty LLC. I once lived in San Diego, CA and one day I decided to visit the mall and I was stopped by an employee of MAC Cosmetics, she asked if I wanted to try any makeup. I first answered and said, “no thank you.” The employee asked again and I decided to try it out. After this experience, I realized I wanted to become a professional make-up artist. Lime Light Beauty LLC specializes in many beauty options such as makeup application, lash extensions, and more. We also have a beauty vending machine which is located in Kalamazoo, Michigan which has items such as beauty sponges, lip gloss, body jewelry, and more.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Being a multi-business owner definitely has its pros and cons. I am happy to say that I learned from a lot of my own mistakes while running businesses. I have struggled many times trying different routes to grow my business, and this was not easy. I learned that you should always try your best and give it your all. You may feel as if you want to give up on your dreams, as things may be overwhelming. I am here to say, keep striving for success and keep working towards your goals, and you will understand that your hard work will pay off.

Lime Light Beauty LLC specializes in beauty services. We offer many different services such as makeup application, lash extensions, eyebrow tint, make-up classes, and more. If someone is not local, we have a make-up e-book guide and tips to purchase online. Located in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where the owner was born and raised. Lime Light Beauty LLC also owns a beauty vending machine. The beauty vending machine has many beauty products that are needed in one’s daily life. These items are popular everyday beauty items for women of all ages. Aside from beauty, we also offer an organization/budget planner for personal or business use, which can be purchased on our website. What sets my business apart from other businesses is my passion and dedication. Since starting this business, I have put my all into it, and I have always been dedicated to make sure my clients and customers are satisfied. I am most proud of how far I have become.
