Hi Takesha and Amanda, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
Keys of the Kingdom (KOTK) Consulting is a partnership consisting of two dynamic business professionals, Ta’Kesha Montgomery and Amanda Weston. Combined we have acquired over thirty-seven years of professional experience and possess an MSA and an MBA from accredited universities. KOTK offers Biblical Kingdom Principles and innovative solutions to serve your specific business needs. We are passionate about assisting business owners in reaching their company goals, positioning themselves within the market, standing out from competitors, and unlocking multiple doors to success. KOTK was founded on the scripture Matt 16:19 “I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you lose on earth will be loosed in heaven.” We firmly believe that the same excellence and splendor that is in operation in the Kingdom of God can be applied within an organization to propel it forward.

For individuals who are just starting, KOTK offers services that are instrumental in uncovering your God-given purpose; we then  work to set and implement SMART goals (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, and Timely) geared at building your kingdom. We come alongside ambitious individuals who have a dream as small as a mustard seed, but once it’s watered, supported, and nourished, we witness visions bloom and come to life. Using our expertise and vast business knowledge, we jump right in to fill the gaps and remove the hassle of trying to “figure it out” and /or the frustration of arriving at a hurdle and feeling stuck.

For existing businesses, we evaluate current business models/practices; provide innovative solutions to redesign the model while consistently working to shatter the ceiling of limitation, propel the organization forward and expand the entrepreneurial kingdom. For the busy and overworked business owners, KOTK assists in problem-solving while eliminating distracting tasks from the business owner’s plate, so owners can focus on their company’s strengths and core competencies.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
We have been in business for over a year, so we are constantly reflecting on current market trends and looking for ways to improve upon our current processes in order to stay relatable while staying true to the core competencies and vision of our company. We have learned two valuable keys of entrepreneurship which is to be consistent and to keep taking steps forward even if it’s a tiny step.

We’ve been impressed with Keys of the Kingdom Consulting, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Keys of the Kingdom consulting specializes in helping entrepreneurs with their initial business start-up, which consists of planning, choosing a business structure, securing funding, choosing the business name, registering their business, applying for the tax identification number, applying for permits and licenses, and other key steps unique to the specific business owner’s needs. We recently wrote a book titled “Write the Vision” business journal, which is available for purchase on Amazon that takes entrepreneurs through the eight (8) key steps that we have identified that are crucial for any business owner who is looking to start a business or that is already in operation.

We also recognize that not everyone desires to start a business, so we also assist individuals by helping them to discover and walk in their purpose. We believe that all of the biblical excellence and splendor that operates in the Kingdom of God are also available for us to utilize here on earth. We are most proud when we see individuals who have a dream take a leap of faith by taking the necessary steps to start their business. Many times, individuals are afraid to start because of fear, or quite frankly, they don’t know where to start, and it seems to be too overwhelming. We want to remove the barrier of the entrepreneur feeling like they have to know all the steps to starting and operating a business before they do anything. We enjoy doing research and helping our clients by taking them step by step and offering monthly consultations with our clients who subscribe to one of our membership packages. What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
We project that there will be a significant increase over the next 5-10 years of individuals wanting to start a business. After COVID, a lot of people were able to adjust to the shifting times by working virtually and choosing to prioritize their focus, allowing them to spend more time with their families. The millennial generation has adapted from working in a corporate office job where they may feel unvalued, under-appreciated, burned out, etc., to choosing to work for themselves to create generational wealth utilizing their gifts and talents through social media platforms.
