Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephanie Pride.
Hi Stephanie, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Born in Detroit raised by two incredible parents with 6 children. Me being the second oldest of the tribe. I was always intrigued by the arts and particularly the performing arts. I later graduated top of my class at Detroit HS for Fine and Performing Arts majoring in Fine Art with a minor in Music. When My father started his church and I thought to myself… ‘I never want to do this church thing when I grow up”! Only to become a working staff member by the 22 years old. Life is funny. The music had totally consumed my life. I started leading praise and worship, recording songs, and traveling the world as a gospel singer. While working at the church I developed many programs to help serve others. Life was all about serving others. Now 23 years of doing full-time ministry at local churches, my sister and I run a consultant company called Bright Light Media Group. Where we provide brand management, project management, production consultation, and full-service administration to specifically religious and non-profit organizations.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Along the way, I divorced after 5 years of marriage and was all of a sudden, a single mom with a 4-year-old daughter, Ariel in 2007. That totally changed the way I looked at life. I had to become this superwoman to provide for my daughter and I and had to consider other ways to supplement my income. So, I became a hairdresser in a salon on the side while working at my dad’s church through the week.
My father passed in 2015 from multiple myeloma cancer and I thought I wanted to die. On his deathbed, we held hands and I told him ” I got you dad, you can rest” He looked up and said Steph said she got me and closed his eyes and went to sleep. From that moment on I knew my life would be a matter of running with the batton in serving others for the rest of my life.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Bright Light Media Group?
We build our company on relationships by listening to the client’s needs and implementing strategies and product services. Most of our work in with the religious community with branding, social media engagement, full-service administrative support, and project management. What really sets us apart is we like to become a part of your team and building relationships to ensure your vision comes to life.
What was your favorite childhood memory?
Dinner time at our house was the best. Mom used to give all of us an assignment, such as one would set the table and placemats, one would pour the drinks, one would make the plates, one would clean off the table, one would wash the dishes. It was so much fun and competition to see who would have the assignment day to day and who could do it best! The entire time, I didn’t know that it was teaching us the lesson of teamwork and how to be flexible, because some days I thought it was free labor laugh out loud.
