I grew up in my grandma’s salon. Hair, conversation, community—it was all I ever knew. From a young age, I knew this industry was in my blood, and opening my own place was always the dream.
Thirteen years ago, I began cutting men’s hair professionally. Over time, I built strong relationships with my clients—so strong that many refused to see anyone else. As rewarding as that was, working in the corporate side of the hair industry slowly started to feel limiting. I wanted more freedom, more creativity, and more control over the experience I was providing.
That’s when I knew it was time.
I started searching for a space and found the perfect location in Auburn Hills at N Opdyke and Pontiac Road. It wasn’t move-in ready—it needed work—but I could see the vision immediately. With a lot of long days, late nights, and determination, I transformed the space in just four months.
The day I opened The Oakland Lounge Men’s Grooming was truly a blessing. The support, the energy, and the response from the community were overwhelming in the best way. Every single day since has confirmed that I made the right decision.
This isn’t just a barbershop—it’s the realization of a lifelong dream, a continuation of my family’s legacy, and a space built with intention, passion, and heart.

Of course, the journey wasn’t without challenges. There were moments of doubt, unexpected expenses, tight timelines, and plenty of late nights wondering if everything would come together in time. Balancing renovations, permits, and the reality of taking a leap of faith was overwhelming at times. But every obstacle reinforced how badly I wanted this—and how much I believed in the vision.

I have so many people in my life that deserve credit. My husband for believing in me and being next to me while I built our future. My parents for pushing me to be a business owner. My staff for trusting me to give them a better work environment and freedom to be self employed. I couldn’t have done any of this without them.
