Inspiring Conversations with Reema Beri of Flourish Psychology and Wellness

Today we’d like to introduce you to Reema Beri.

Hi Reema, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I didn’t set out to build a business—I set out to do work that felt meaningful and honest. I began my career as a psychologist in more traditional clinical settings, which gave me a strong foundation, but over time I realized I wanted to practice in a way that felt more personal, more human, and more expansive.

Very early on, I became deeply interested in the mind–body connection and the idea that healing doesn’t happen in fragments. Emotional health, physical experience, relationships, and daily life are inseparable, and meaningful change happens when you look at the whole person—not just a diagnosis or a set of symptoms.

That perspective ultimately led me to open my own practice, which eventually grew into a group practice. Along the way, my role shifted in ways I didn’t fully anticipate—from clinician, to founder, to leader. Today, I spend my time supporting both clients and clinicians, building systems that honor the full human experience while still delivering thoughtful, compassionate care.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth or linear road, and I think that’s true for most people who build something meaningful. There were periods of uncertainty, growing pains, and a lot of learning on the fly—especially as the work expanded from one-on-one clinical care into building and sustaining a group practice.

There were moments where I was learning leadership and business decisions in real time, often while still holding a full clinical caseload. Learning how to balance care with structure was one of the biggest challenges. I had to grow into leadership, make difficult decisions, and set boundaries without losing the heart of the work.

Looking back, those challenges forced clarity—about my values, about how I wanted to work, and about the kind of environment I wanted to create for both clients and clinicians.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Flourish Psychology and Wellness?
At its core, the practice is about helping people feel more connected to themselves and their lives. We specialize in thoughtful, depth-oriented mental health care that looks at the whole person—emotionally, relationally, and physically—rather than focusing only on symptom reduction.

Mind–body work is an important part of how we do that. In sessions, that might look like helping someone slow their breathing when they feel overwhelmed, guiding a brief grounding or visualization exercise, or learning how to notice what their body is communicating in moments of stress or emotion. These practices help people feel safer in their own bodies, which often opens the door to deeper insight and change.

What sets us apart is the tone and intention behind the work. Care is warm, individualized, and grounded in strong clinical integrity, but it’s also very human. We place a lot of emphasis on the therapeutic relationship and on creating an environment where people feel safe, respected, and truly seen.

Brand-wise, I’m most proud of the trust we’ve built. People often tell us they felt cared for from their very first interaction, and that means everything to me. The practice isn’t about quick fixes—it’s about creating space for real understanding, growth, and lasting change.

We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
Most people are surprised by how intuitive the business actually is. Behind the scenes, many decisions are made slowly and intentionally, guided more by reflection and values than by formulas or trends.

I don’t see the business as separate from my own growth. The practice has grown alongside me, shaped by the same inner work and self-awareness I encourage in others.
