Today we’d like to introduce you to Raechelle Lovejoy.

Raechelle, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started TheDesirablePalace by my mother’s gift of paying for my lash class. I then found my love for beauty. After doing lashes for 2 years I wanted to figure out a way I could help women feel more comfortable and confident in their self. I eventually enrolled in Beauty School and absolutely fell in love with facials. Although I don’t offer facials now, in the next few months it will be what I specialize in! I feel everyone should be able to have the beauty that they desire.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has not been a smooth road. I am the type of person who doesn’t have a huge support system, therefore I built clientele from the ground. It has been many times where I wanted to give up because I couldn’t afford to pay for my suite rent but I never did, because I believe I can do all things through Christ who strengths me, as well as always keeping faith and never giving up. Many people don’t start school because it is expensive. Let me tell you I paid for beauty school out of my own pockets with no job, and a few clients, $1273 a month. So many times I kept asking how am I gonna pay this month’s bills, but God always made a way!

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
I am a 20 year old entrepreneur. I specialize in full body waxing, lashes, and skin care. The thing that set me apart from other people in the industry will be how authentic I am, although I am young I am able to relate to every client and bring hope and inspiration in their lives! I want any one who come across me to know that my salon is always a safe space. I do not tolerate no judgement and I am here to uplift you.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
My favorite childhood memory is playing Michael Jackson with my cousins.
