Today we’d like to introduce you to Paige Kempa

Hi Paige, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’ve loved capturing moments through photos for as long as I can remember. In high school, I received my first DSLR camera, and from that moment on, I was hooked, on photographing anything and everything. After high school, I attended Michigan State University, where I was fortunate enough to land two internships in my senior year that combined photography with social media marketing. Those experiences were pivotal—they fueled my passion for both fields and helped me grow my skills in each.

When I graduated college this past spring, I continued practicing by taking photos for friends and family, and I fell in love with the process more and more every session. While applying to post-grad jobs and attending interviews, I started noticing a pattern—people were reaching out more frequently, asking about photo sessions and my rates. It made me think, what if I could turn this into something bigger? I began envisioning a business where I could use my love for photography and social media to build my own path.

With the encouragement of friends and family, I dove into creating my brand, where my public relations degree was a huge help: brainstorming everything from pricing to typography to goals, and finding a way to make this dream come to life. By the end of June 2024, I launched Moments by Paige. Since then, I’ve been so grateful to capture meaningful memories for some amazing people—engagements, maternity sessions, family portraits, couples, seniors, and more. Every session allows me to preserve genuine and authentic moments while connecting with my clients, and reminds me how lucky I am to do what I love!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Photography is definitely a competitive field, and getting your name out there at first can be challenging. Putting yourself out there, especially on social media, can also be nerve-wracking. I have experience in social media management for multiple other companies but I was never the face of the brand, so it’s very different posting as myself- but I know in order to be successful I have to put myself out there!

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Moments by Paige?
I’m a photographer specializing in couples, families, seniors, grads, branding, and any of your special moments or events! I have a special place in my heart for couple sessions and telling each one’s love story through photos. I’m based in southeast Michigan but I love to travel for sessions! I think how I approach a session sets me apart from others. My most common feedback from clients (and my favorite to receive) is how comfortable I made them feel during our session or how it didn’t feel like they were doing a photo shoot, just them simply having fun and making memories. I also love to focus on the tiny, authentic details that might easily slip away from memory over time, like your toddler’s nose scrunch when he laughs or the gentle touch of your partner’s hand. The goal of my photos is to take you back to that specific and precious moment in time.

My style is true to color, timeless, and genuine. I value candid and natural photos through prompts as well as gentle posing to ensure you get everything you’re looking for from a session. I am always up for exploring new areas and capturing any fun ideas that a client comes to me with!

Pricing:

• Package 1 – $80 // 20 minutes of shooting time, minimum of 15 edited images, 1 location, online gallery shareable with friends and family, limit of 3 people
• Package 2 – $150 // 40 minutes of shooting time, minimum of 30 edited images – 1 location, online gallery shareable with friends and family, limit of 5 people
• Package 3 -$200 // up to an hour and 15 minutes of shooting time , minimum of 50 edited images, up to 2 locations, up to 2 outfit changes, online gallery shareable with friends and family
