Today we’d like to introduce you to Marissa Dunn

Hi Marissa, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My journey began as a college athlete, where I competed at a national level in hammer throw during my first year at college. That experience taught me the value of discipline, dedication, and a “work hard always” mindset. It also fostered a sense of teamwork and leadership, as I believe in never asking others to do something I wouldn’t do myself. These principles have remained central to everything I do.

Over time, I discovered that what really set me apart was my ability to not only make logical decisions but also to connect with people on a deeper level. I’ve always valued building meaningful relationships, which has opened up numerous opportunities and helped me lead teams and projects effectively.

Today, I’m passionate about creating spaces for connection and community. Outside of my primary work, I founded “Elevate Women’s Club,” an online community for women to support, empower, and learn from each other. I’m also deeply passionate about photography, running my own business on the side, where I get to be creative and capture moments that bring people together.

At the heart of everything I do is the drive to create a sense of belonging, whether it’s through leadership, business, or my creative endeavors. It’s about fostering connection and bringing people together, and that’s what continues to inspire me every day.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It’s definitely been a journey with its fair share of challenges, but I’ve learned that growth doesn’t happen without overcoming obstacles. There have been times where I had to juggle multiple commitments, like balancing my athletic career with academics, and later, transitioning from being a college athlete to pursuing a career while building my own business. Each challenge presented an opportunity to learn and adapt.

One of the pivotal moments in my journey came when I noticed a significant gap: there wasn’t enough support among women in business. This lack of connection and collaboration was something I felt strongly about, so I started “Elevate Women’s Club.” I wanted to create a space where women could come together, network, and support each other, making it a normal part of the business culture.

The road hasn’t always been smooth, but that’s only made me more committed to building a community where women uplift each other. I believe in the power of resilience and persistence, and while there have been bumps along the way, they’ve shaped my vision and strengthened my resolve to keep pushing forward.

Elevate Women’s Club is an online community dedicated to empowering women in business by fostering connection, support, and collaboration. It was created out of a personal desire to address the lack of spaces where women could truly come together, support one another, and network in a meaningful way. Our mission is to normalize women supporting women, offering a platform where members can learn from each other, share experiences, and find inspiration and motivation to elevate their personal and professional lives.

What sets Elevate Women’s Club apart is its commitment to creating a welcoming, inclusive environment that encourages women to be real and authentic in their interactions. We specialize in building community-driven experiences—as we expand our community in 2025 into virtual networking events, workshops, or mentorship opportunities—that allow women to feel seen, heard, and valued.

What I’m most proud of is how the community has grown and how members continuously show up for each other. The connections, partnerships, and friendships that have formed within Elevate Women’s Club are a testament to the power of a supportive network. We’re not just about professional growth; we’re about creating a space where women can thrive together, lift each other up, and celebrate one another’s successes.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
In the next 5-10 years, I see the industry continuing to evolve with a focus on empowering women in business. Women starting their own businesses is becoming more normalized, and I believe we’ll see even more women seizing the opportunity to build their own ventures. Whether it’s in tech, retail, or service industries, women are taking bold steps to create businesses that reflect their values and passions.

As this shift continues, I think we’ll see a significant rise in the number of women starting their own businesses, and with that, an increasing demand for support. From mentorship to resources that guide women through the challenges of starting, growing, and scaling a business, the need for a solid support network will be crucial. More women will seek out communities that not only provide business advice but also offer emotional and mental support as they navigate the ups and downs of entrepreneurship.
