Today we’d like to introduce you to Leah Watkins (Dorchak).

Hi Leah, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started my journey in 2022 while I was finishing up my bachelor’s degree. Around that time, a friend and colleague reached out and asked if I’d be interested in offering marketing services for one of their client’s businesses. I decided to take the leap and give it a try, and that moment really changed everything for me.
That first opportunity taught me a lot. I had to make some big decisions, learn how business operations actually work, and figure out how I could really make an impact through social media and digital marketing. I already had a strong understanding of marketing from school, but getting to apply what I was learning in real life was the best education I could’ve asked for.
Since then, I’ve been steadily growing my business. It started with just one client, then more people began reaching out, and before I knew it, I was working with a variety of amazing businesses. The more I connected with different people, the more I realized how much I love the freedom to be creative and how naturally marketing comes to me. It really feels like a second language.
I’m passionate about helping businesses grow and connect with their audience in meaningful ways. That passion is what inspired me to officially launch Leah’s Lab, a space where I can bring fresh ideas to life, support incredible clients, and do the work I truly love.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I would say for the most part, yes it has been a smooth path. This is exactly what I am meant to be doing. I can’t say that the path has been perfect, I have had to learn a lot, deal with a lot of changes, adapt to new strategies. But overall, it has been the best process and I am still growing everyday which continues to excite me.

As you know, we’re big fans of Leah’s Lab. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
I specialize in social media marketing services, and marketing to help grow your online and digital presence.

My main services that I’m known for are social media management, content creation, branding & strategy, and website & graphic design.

What really sets me apart is my one-on-one approach to marketing. I tailor my process to fit each client’s unique needs and level of involvement—because no two businesses are the same. Some clients love being hands-on with their social media and want to be involved every step of the way. Others are so busy running their day-to-day operations that they prefer to hand over the reins completely. I love being able to support both types—and everything in between. There’s no one-size-fits-all when it comes to marketing, and I’m proud to offer a flexible, personalized approach for every client I work with.

I’m really proud of how far I’ve come and how much I’ve grown. It all started with just one client, and slowly it turned into two, then four—and now I have a steady flow of inquiries coming in. It’s such a great feeling when your work ends up in the hands of people who really get it. They see the creativity and heart behind what I do, and they want to work together because of that. I’ve been lucky to work with some amazing clients and like-minded business owners who inspire me and make this journey so rewarding. Connecting with people like that has truly been one of the best parts of what I do.

I’m currently accepting new clients and excited to expand my brand by building strong partnerships with businesses across various industries. As I grow, my goal is to scale my business and bring on additional social media managers to better serve a diverse client base. I’m especially interested in working with coffee shops, restaurants, fitness studios, and interior design brands—though I love collaborating with all kinds of businesses. I bring fresh, customized marketing strategies to the table and thrive on helping brands elevate their presence and connect with their audience in meaningful ways.

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
This industry is ever-changing, it changes every day so it’s hard to say where it might be 5-10 years from now. I think with marketing we will continue to see a huge shift in influencer partnerships. Brands will have the opportunity to build a voice and credibility through well-known figures on social media. Trends will change, formats will change, ad-targets will change, but I’m hoping social media evolves in a more tailored way to reach your niche and demographics in an authentic way.
