Hi Lara, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Michigan Psychological Care started small with a dream from one man to better the mental health access in Michigan’s Clinton County. What started as a dream has expanded to real life. The company has now become a staple to many Michiganders across several counties. We now offer therapy, psychological evaluations, psychiatry, substance use treatment, Autism Care, and more to Clinton County, Midland County, Gratiot County, Livingston County, Jackson County, and virtually! His goal has grown to provide expert level mental health care to all of Michigan’s underserved locations and populations.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
There has been several challenges and obstacles along the 15 years of Michigan Psychological Care. Those struggles have only pushed us to do better and fight harder. Challenges from insurance changes to building renovations can be a difficult thing to push through, but what drives us is the care we provide to people who need it most. Though we may experience difficulties, we know our fight is worth it to help our clients. Our staff consists of incredible and compassionate Therapists, Testers and Testing Technicians, Clinical Directors, Front Staff and Office Managers, Billing staff, Human Resources, Marketing and Development staff, BCBAs and RBTS, Scheduling Staff, Psychiatric Providers and MAs, and even interns who all have the same heart and passion for mental health. Life isn’t a smooth road, and neither is running a business. We are in this together with our clients.

Michigan Psychological Care specializes in outpatient mental health services. We provide expert level therapy, psychological evaluations, psychiatric medication management, substance use treatment, and more across Michigan with physical locations in Saint Johns, Alma, Midland, Howell, and Jackson. We also provide a wide variety of virtual services. What sets us apart from others in this field is our passion for the community and access to most insurances. We accept most major insurances and have clinicians who specialize in just about anything you could ask for. We can see as young as 3 years old in some offices and have no cap to age! Our providers have specialties in everything from CBT, DBT, EMDR, TRE, etc. Our testing department is able to provide psychological evaluations for Autism, ADHD/ADD, Memory, Personality, and so much more. Are you looking for a specific type of provider? We have it! We are so proud to provide such an expansive list of services with the understanding that finances can be difficult. We accept most insurances and offer a hardship financial form to try and alleviate the stress of billing. Michigan Psychological Care also employs interns for those without insurance to ensure any and everybody has access to the care they need.

We often think about what makes our company happy. Our happiness derives from helping our community. Touching the life of one could impact the lives of thousands.
