Today we’d like to introduce you to Jenny MacLeod.

Hi Jenny, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Beaches and Dream Travel really began with my own love story. When my husband and I got married, we had a destination wedding in Jamaica — and I absolutely loved the entire process of planning that trip. The travel agency that helped us coordinate everything must’ve noticed my enthusiasm, because afterward they offered me an opportunity to join their team as an outside sales consultant.

That was 27 years ago, and I instantly fell in love with helping others create the same kind of unforgettable experiences I’d just had. I worked with that agency for several years, learning the ins and outs of the travel industry, before deciding to branch out and start my own business about 18 years ago.

Since then, I’ve grown Beaches and Dream Travel into a boutique luxury travel agency specializing in high-end, personalized experiences — from Caribbean all-inclusive resorts and luxury cruises to curated adventure and wellness escapes. What started with one destination wedding has evolved into a lifelong passion for helping clients celebrate every stage of life through travel.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t always been a smooth road. Like any business, there have been ups and downs and plenty of learning experiences along the way. When I first started, the travel industry looked very different — people relied heavily on travel agents. But as the internet became more popular, many travelers began booking online and doing everything themselves. For a while, that shift really challenged traditional agencies like mine.

What I discovered, though, is that great service and personal connection never go out of style. Over time — and especially after COVID — there’s been a major shift back toward working with trusted travel advisors. People realized that travel can be complicated and unpredictable, and they don’t want to spend hours scrolling through endless options online. They want someone who truly understands their goals and can curate meaningful experiences — not just book hotel rooms.

That’s really where Beaches and Dream Travel shines. I focus on designing seamless, high-touch journeys that let clients simply relax and enjoy their trip knowing everything has been handled with care. The challenges along the way taught me how important it is to adapt, stay educated, and keep putting the human touch back into travel.

Beaches and Dream Travel is a boutique luxury travel agency built around one simple idea — that travel should be effortless, personal, and truly transformative. I focus on three key areas: Caribbean Luxury, Luxury Cruises, and Luxury Wilderness & Adventure Escapes. From all-inclusive resorts and destination weddings, to private villas, luxury yacht and river cruises, and bespoke land journeys across North America’s most breathtaking destinations including national parks, glamping, and wine country — every trip is tailored to reflect the client’s unique vision, preferences, and lifestyle.

What really sets my agency apart is the level of personalization and care I bring to every experience. My clients don’t just receive an itinerary — they receive a thoughtfully designed journey with concierge-level support from start to finish. I’m deeply invested in getting to know each traveler, understanding what “luxury” means to them, and then curating every detail to exceed that expectation.

Brand-wise, I’m most proud that Beaches and Dream Travel has become known for that white-glove, high-touch approach. It’s not just about where my clients go — it’s about how they feel when they get there. Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
I’ve always believed that growth doesn’t happen without a little risk. Every major turning point in my career came from stepping outside my comfort zone — from leaving a traditional job to grow my own business, to shifting my focus toward luxury and experiential travel.

When I launched Beaches and Dream Travel, it was a leap of faith guided only by a belief that travelers wanted a personal connection and curated service. Over the years, I’ve continued to take calculated risks — investing in branding, expanding into luxury cruises and adventure travel, and staying ahead of industry changes.

To me, risk isn’t about being fearless; it’s about having faith in your vision and the willingness to adapt when things don’t go as planned. The biggest risk is staying still in a world that’s always changing. Each time I’ve taken a thoughtful risk, it’s opened the door to something better — more aligned with who I am and what my clients truly value.
