Inspiring Conversations with Jennifer Wilson of Celestial Farms Wedding Venue

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Wilson.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
People often ask how Celestial Farms wedding venue began, but for me, it wasn’t one defining moment—it was something that happened naturally. It was a series of life events, and a commitment to creating something beautiful and meaningful.

The property was originally our family’s horse farm, a place that held years of memories and family traditions. After experiencing personal loss, we found ourselves looking at it through a different lens. Rather than letting it remain a sad reminder of the past, we envisioned it as a place where joyful new beginnings could be celebrated. That idea became the foundation for Celestial Farms.

As we brought that vision to life, our focus was never simply on building an average wedding venue. We wanted to create once in a lifetime experiences where couples and their guests feel genuinely cared for, where every detail is intentional, and where families can gather in a setting that feels both elegant and welcoming. Every wedding, every season, and every couple has taught us something new, shaping the way we continue to grow as a wedding venue in Michigan and the way we approach hospitality.

Looking back, I realize that my journey has been less about following a straight path and more about being open to learning new things and embracing growth. The willingness to evolve has led us to where we are today. I’m incredibly proud of what Celestial Farms wedding venue has become, but I still see it as a place that’s constantly growing and evolving. It’s a privilege to watch couples begin their next chapter here, knowing that a property that means so much to our own family now becomes part of so many other families’ stories as well.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Not exactly—but that’s helped us grow.

Every single wedding teaches us something new. Even after hosting years of weddings in every season, I’m still learning and finding better ways to do things. We’re human, and no event is ever completely perfect, sometimes it’s completely out of our hands, but we’re constantly improving our processes, communication, and the overall wedding experience for our couples.

One of the biggest challenges is that weddings bring together so many moving parts. So great coordination is key and that’s why it’s always included. You’re coordinating vendors, managing staff, balancing different personalities throughout the planning process and on wedding day, and making sure everything comes together seamlessly on one very important day. Behind the scenes, there’s also the business side—navigating legal requirements, licensing, insurance, and constantly refining operations.

As Celestial Farms has grown, we’ve intentionally brought more services in-house, including wedding coordination, bartending, and media services. That has given us greater control over the experience and has helped create a more seamless day for our couples and their guests. We’ve also worked hard to build strong relationships with our partner vendors who share our values, creating a preferred vendor list that we’re genuinely proud to recommend.

Growth never means having all the answers—it means being willing to listen, adapt, and improve. At the end of the day, the most rewarding part of is hearing our couples tell us it was the best day of their lives. That’s what reminds us that all of the learning, problem-solving, and continuous improvements are worth it.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Celestial Farms Wedding Venue?
It was extremely important to me from the beginning that Celestial Farms was more than just a beautiful wedding venue—we’re creating an unforgettable experience where couples feel supported from the moment they book until the last dance.

What sets us apart from other wedding venues is our passion and how involved we are. We’re a hands-on team, and no task is too small if it helps a couple enjoy their day. Whether we’re bustling a wedding dress, solving an unexpected issue behind the scenes, coordinating vendors, or keeping the timeline on track, we’re always focused on making the day feel effortless for our couples.

We’ve also expanded our in-house services, including planning support and day-of-coordination, bartending services, and a complete media team with Kylee Wilson Media, to create a more seamless experience and maintain the level of quality we’re known for. Our passionate team combined with a trusted network of preferred vendors allows us to help couples enjoy the planning process instead of feeling overwhelmed. From managing RSVP’S and hosting their free wedding website to perfecting a personalized timeline- we help every step of the way.

More than anything, I’m proud of our brand and the reputation we’ve built. We want every couple to leave feeling like they were genuinely cared for—not just as clients, but as people. At the end of the wedding our couples always tell us it was the best day of their lives, and that’s means the world to us, and it drives everything we do.

What are your plans for the future?
We’re always looking for thoughtful ways to elevate the overall wedding experience for our couples while staying true to what makes Celestial Farms wedding venue so special. One of the things I’m most excited about is our new wooded ceremony location, which offers couples another beautiful setting with a more earthy feel.

We’re also expanding our elevated bar services with handcrafted cocktails and a more curated beverage experience. It’s another way we’re creating a wedding day that feels unique and personalized for each couple.

Moving forward, our goal isn’t to become the biggest Michigan wedding venue—it’s to continue refining every part of the personalized, unique wedding experience, adding meaningful amenities, and finding new ways to make each wedding even more memorable than the last.
