Hi Jaylah, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
After obtaining my cosmetology license I signed up for a wax class to have another service under my belt! I absolutely fell in love with the art and skill that goes into it! I love making my clients feel good about themselves especially with this being something so intimate. I do full body waxing but specialize in brazilians and also just got into brow tinting ! I’ve been in business since November 28, 2022 and we’re still going strong .
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Being an entrepreneur has not been an easy road but you can get through any obstacle if you keep your faith and focus on the goals you need to accomplish . Some struggles i’ve had in the beginning was trying to gain clientele when i first started simply because its a super intimate service and i could understand anybody not wanting a random woman seeing their anatomy !

The Hair Bar is my 3rd business venture that i have learned to love and stick with despite slow seasons, no clients , discouragement I have persevered the weather through this process. I am known for waxing specializing in brazilians ! My brand is super unique to others because I do it my way and i have fun with it. My returning clients love me ! I bond with everyone that comes to get serviced. The Hair Bar is also known for being super informative not just about your skin but what you eat that makes your skin dry or have ingrowns. I make 100% natural products for my ladies/gents that have ingrowns and dark spots. Every customer that has used the brightening scrub personally text me just to tell me how good it works! I test all products on my sister and I! I don’t use any harsh chemicals in any of my products. I’ve researched each individual ingredient and leanred how to help my clients with hyperpigmentation and ingrowns, without the harmful chemicals. I am proud of everything this far about my brand and how far WE have come !
Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I don’t like to say i’ve had any “luck” I truly work hard everything i have for my business, it’s my baby! I gave up on my last 2 businesses because of clients or me being discouraged but this time i told myself i was not giving up no matter how hard it got. The Hair Bar will be big! I am currently looking for my own space to run my business out of so i don’t have to rent any longer !
