Today we’d like to introduce you to Dommique Diamond.
Hi Dommique, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
So as people know, I am a 10 times independent freelance published model however when it comes to my newest adventure “Sexual Health is Wealth” which is something that I launched earlier this year has been in the making for almost 2 years. It all started as an idea that I told my friend who is also my creative director for this project, we started to work on it I believe June 2024. It all started with me sending out a note of how I wanted the site to look like and fast forward to February 2026 our hard work finally came to life out of all the things that I’ve done within the past six years. This is probably one of the proudest ventures and investment’s I’ve ever done.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It wasn’t always a smooth road. There were a lot of times where I felt stuck. There are also a lot of times where I felt scared and unsure of where this could possibly go. I was also figuring out Dommique and what that would look like for me as I was getting older and I wanted to venture out into some more things plus I was in the process of getting acclimated with school. So there are so many times that I got into my own way, which hindered a lot of the creative process, but over the course a time and just doing the eternal work on myself the process became very smooth and each day I got more excited the thought of me being a brand owner help me looking forward to each day of the creative process.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Sexual Health is Wealth ?
So Sexual Health is Wealth is a resource guide for all things sexual health and wellness in general. We offer so many things such as places to go for free and reduce testing of any kind, therapy, resources for LGBTQ community, and so much more. The main goal that I have for is for this to be a safe space for not only for us to learn about sexual health, but I also want us to have more open and honest conversations about things that are so taboo, especially within the Black community we tend to steer away from conversations like sex and sexuality and I just feel like this will bring us all together for us to have conversations that we thought we would never have
How do you think about luck?
I wouldn’t say it was luck I think it was just me believing myself when I stopped getting in my own way and just having that confidence that I can be not only successful in life, but also with anything that I do and I think that’s why I’ve lasted almost 10 years in the creative world because I didn’t let anything for the most part stop me did I have my doubts yes but did I shake it off and lock in yes so sometimes it’s not really luck. It’s just you really believing that what you’re doing is right is great even in the times where I failed I still didn’t let that define who I was.
