Today we’d like to introduce you to Conan Venus. 

Hi Conan, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
I was a small-town farm boy, punk-rock teen, and art school dropout. 

I started my career in the late ’90s as a print designer but quickly moved to this new thing called the “internet.” My experience in digital design and project management eventually led to me getting hired in 2006 by one of the largest advertising agencies in Michigan, where I helped manage digital ad campaigns for Kellogg’s and Heinz. In 2015, I struck out on my own, consulting several start-ups and small businesses. 

In 2019, I partnered with Mark Bird, an exceptional and experienced creative talent, and Jolita Abromaityte, a social media and project management expert, to create Conan Venus And Company (CVAC), a small but mighty creative advertising agency. 

We have been having a blast ever since. 

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I have not always chosen the smoothest path, and life always throws you some curveballs. However, over time, I have learned if you can view your “struggles” as “opportunities,” you will always come out ahead. 

Conan Venus And Company resulted from a previously failed business effort and my frustration with ageism in our industry. 

The success we are seeing as an agency today is because we did not let our fears stop us during the pandemic. Instead, we continued to market ourselves and focused on efforts that would help us grow in the future.

Conan Venus and Company is a modern advertising company that helps our clients stand out in a sea of sameness. 

We are a full-service creative advertising agency, providing everything from logos to videos to marketing strategies. While we are headquartered in Kalamazoo, we are a virtual team of a dozen experienced creatives scattered across the country and the globe servicing national clients. We also have an extensive network of partners and experts that allow us to expand as a project needs. 

Our primary focus is helping clients that want to create strong brands to sell their products or services. No matter the medium, we expertly deliver your message with award-winning creative, maximizing your budget to connect you with more customers, more often, and in more places.

How do you define success?
Success is an ever-changing target. It is about always challenging yourself. Create a goal, determine key tactics and measures to achieve that goal and once you have, move on to the next goal (after a small celebration, of course).
