Inspiring Conversations with Brandi Butler of Insight Healing and Wellness/The Healer’s Lounge

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandi Butler

Hi Brandi, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I started out as a therapist with a full-time job, following the traditional path laid out for most mental health professionals. While I loved helping people, I felt a strong pull to create something bigger—something that could make a lasting impact and uplift others, especially those in the mental health space. But the leap wasn’t easy. I made mistakes, faced challenges, and at times, questioned if I’d made the right choice. Yet every setback brought a lesson that eventually turned into a stepping stone.

In many ways, I realize that this is the dream of my 15-year-old self coming to life. I still remember leaving my first psychology class in high school and feeling this spark, knowing that I wanted to help people heal. Back then, I couldn’t see the exact path, but I knew that one day I wanted to create something special in the world of mental health.

Today, I’m proud to have grown my own practice, Insight Healing and Wellness, where we serve clients across Michigan and California, offering both in-person and virtual therapy. Along the way, I realized that my work was about more than therapy alone. It was about creating spaces where healing practitioners—therapists, life coaches, yoga instructors, massage therapists, reiki practitioners, and more—could come together, support one another, and thrive. That’s how The Healer’s Lounge was born, a luxury coworking space designed exclusively for healers. My goal is to cultivate a supportive, empowering environment where those dedicated to healing can do their best work while feeling seen and valued.

The journey has led to opportunities I couldn’t have imagined, like our upcoming grand opening, workshops, and masterminds to help others manifest their visions. And now, my mission is clearer than ever: I’m here to empower others to build thriving, impactful practices. This work has been my calling, my passion, and my purpose, and I can’t help but think that my younger self would be proud to see it all coming together.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It’s had many hurdles! I haven’t had a guide in navigating business, and learned for the most part by making mistakes and giving myself grace, while committing to being better everyday. I’ve had challenges with not hearing back from realtors, or having them not take me seriously. In our first space the basement flooded, and we lost our furniture and therapy materials. I have faced many struggles building out The Healer’s Lounge, while also running day to day operations for Insight Healing and Wellness. I just brought on an executive assistant and it changed my life. Since starting this business in 2020, I’ve had to do much of the physical work for the build outs on my own. I also funded everything from my life’s savings and current work. I didn’t know much about loans and grants, but I knew I didn’t want to let anything hold me back from building out this dream, so I’ve leaned in, and given it all I have.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Insight Healing and Wellness/The Healer’s Lounge ?
My business, Insight Healing and Wellness, is all about creating a transformative and holistic experience in mental health. We provide therapy services in Michigan and California, both in-person and virtually, through a team that’s dedicated to helping clients find deep healing and growth. One of our specialties is trauma-focused therapy, including EMDR, which has been incredibly impactful for those looking to overcome past pain and move forward with renewed purpose.

In addition to Insight Healing and Wellness, I’ve also created The Healer’s Lounge, a luxury coworking space designed exclusively for healing practitioners—therapists, life coaches, yoga instructors, massage therapists, reiki practitioners, and more. The Healer’s Lounge isn’t just a workspace; it’s a supportive, empowering environment where healers can do their best work, surrounded by a community that uplifts them.

What truly sets us apart is our commitment to fostering a collaborative and holistic approach to wellness. I believe that healing can’t happen in isolation, and I wanted to build spaces that reflect that belief. From personalized therapy sessions to a coworking community designed for those dedicated to helping others heal, everything we do is rooted in connection, compassion, and a genuine commitment to growth.

Brand-wise, I’m incredibly proud of the supportive, inclusive, and luxury experience we’ve created—one that feels as welcoming and transformative for our practitioners as it does for our clients. At the heart of both Insight Healing and Wellness and The Healer’s Lounge is a vision for holistic healing that’s accessible, affirming, and deeply empowering.

Whether seeking therapy, looking for a supportive coworking space, or curious about our wellness offerings, my hope is that everyone who connects with our brand feels seen, supported, and inspired on their own journey.

We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
Always be ready to pivot and readjust. It also placed into perspective, the fragility of life, and how important it is to give everything we’ve got to what matters to us. My motto is, I’m always afraid, I still do it [whatever I’m hesitant about and still want to do] scared.
