Today we’d like to introduce you to Becca Beydoun.
Hi Becca, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
When I began my nail career nine years ago, I started my apprenticeship with my now business partner, Lauren, under our old boss. We were brand new—learning side by side, figuring things out as we went, and trying to find our place in the industry. Neither of us could’ve guessed that years later, we’d be co-owning a salon together, building something from scratch that reflects who we are and how far we’ve come.
In the beginning, I’ll be honest—my nails weren’t always great. But my clients kept coming back because I made them laugh, listened, and always had a story to tell. Coming from the bar world, I was used to reading people and creating a good atmosphere, and that carried right over into the salon. It wasn’t just about nails—it was about the vibe, the consistency, and knowing that when you sat in my chair, you’d get quality work and good energy every time.
Over the years, I poured everything into this career. I learned how to run my business, balance motherhood, and grow my clientele from nothing. I built a reputation on reliability, personality, and real connections—the kind that turn appointments into friendships and keep people coming back year after year.
Now, I’m in the process of bringing my biggest goal to life—LAB+Co., a new salon co-owned with Lauren. It’s still under construction, but every day we’re one step closer to opening our doors. We’re building it with intention—from the layout and design to the overall experience—creating a space that’s modern, elevated, and welcoming. LAB+Co. represents years of hard work, growth, and late nights behind the scenes turning a dream into something real.
Every part of my story—bartending nights, apprenticing with Lauren, raising my kids, and building my business from the ground up—has led to this moment. LAB+Co. is the next chapter, and it feels like everything I’ve worked for is finally coming together.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. I started this career as a mom just trying to get my life on track and find something stable for my kids. I went from working late nights at a bar to early mornings doing nails, and that transition alone was rough at first.
There were times I doubted myself, but the clientele never stopped. I’ve always been blessed in that way. Even when money got tight—especially going through my divorce—I just kept working. Then losing my sister and stepdad on top of everything… those were some of the hardest times of my life. But I didn’t stop. I still showed up, even when I was barely holding it together, because that’s what I had to do.
This career has tested me in every way. There’s been loss, stress, and plenty of moments where I felt like I was figuring it all out on my own. But it made me tough. It made me appreciate what I’ve built and how far I’ve come. And now, as we’re in the process of building LAB+Co., I’m proud of how I’ve handled every obstacle. None of it’s been easy, but it’s all been worth it.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
LAB+Co. is the new salon I’m opening with my business partner, Lauren. We wanted to create something that feels clean, modern, and elevated but still comfortable and chill. Just a good vibe where clients know they’ll get consistent, quality work every single time.
Right now, we’re focused on nails. That’s our thing. We both care a lot about structure, shaping, and making sure every set looks just as good weeks later as the day it was done. It’s not about rushing people in and out, it’s about doing good work and giving clients an experience they actually enjoy.
What makes LAB+Co. different is how much thought we’re putting into it. Every detail, from the layout to the setup is intentional. We want it to feel calm and put-together, but still fun and easygoing, like you’re hanging out with people who actually love what they do.
We’re still in the building phase right now, but honestly, it already feels special. It’s been a long time coming, and we’re putting everything we’ve learned into making LAB+Co. the kind of salon we’ve always wanted to work in.
Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I don’t know if I’d call it luck as much as timing. I’ve had moments that felt like bad luck at first — losing people I love, going through a divorce, dealing with things that felt impossible — but all of it ended up pushing me in the right direction.
I wouldn’t say everything’s just fallen into place for me, but I do believe certain people and opportunities came into my life exactly when they were supposed to. Meeting the right clients, connecting with Lauren, finding the space for LAB+Co.—those moments felt lucky, but they also happened because I never stopped showing up and putting in the work.
So yeah, I think I’ve had a mix of both good and bad luck. The bad taught me patience and resilience, and the good reminded me that everything really does happen how it’s meant to.
