Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashlee Washington.
Hi Ashlee, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Beyond Bare Beauty started in 2021, when my best friend and I decided to enroll in esthetician school. At the time, we had no idea that one decision would completely change the direction of my life. I graduated in 2022, and what began as a new opportunity quickly turned into a true passion.
When it came time to name my business, I wanted something that reflected more than just beauty services. “Beyond Bare Beauty” represents my belief that beauty goes far beyond appearance. I want every client to feel confident, comfortable, and beautiful in their own skin—their own bare beauty.
My business is deeply rooted in my faith, and the scripture that inspires everything I do is Song of Solomon 4:7: “You are altogether beautiful, my darling; there is no flaw in you.” That verse serves as a reminder that every person who walks through my door already has beauty within them. My goal is simply to help them see it for themselves.
I’ve intentionally created a relaxing, welcoming space where clients can unwind, feel cared for, and leave feeling more confident than when they arrived. I specialize in body waxing, skincare, and brows, but more than anything, I’m passionate about helping people feel beautiful, empowered, and comfortable in their own skin.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
One of the biggest challenges I faced when starting my business was building my clientele. Like many new business owners, I started with very few clients and had to earn people’s trust and establish my reputation. It took consistency, patience, and showing up every day, even on the days that felt discouraging.
Another challenge was funding. Starting a business requires a significant investment, and balancing the costs of supplies, equipment, continuing education, and other business expenses wasn’t always easy. I learned to be resourceful, prioritize what was most important, and reinvest back into my business as it grew.
Looking back, those challenges taught me resilience. They pushed me to become a better business owner, value every client who supports my business, and never stop investing in myself and the experience I provide. Every obstacle has helped shape Beyond Bare Beauty into the business it is today, and I’m so grateful for the journey because it made every milestone that much more meaningful.

Beyond Bare Beauty is so much more than an esthetics business to me… it’s a place where people can come to relax, feel cared for, and leave feeling more confident than when they arrived. I specialize in full-body waxing, skincare, and brow services, and my goal is to provide high-quality treatments in a clean, welcoming, and judgment-free environment.
What sets Beyond Bare Beauty apart is the experience I strive to create. I know that services like body waxing can make people feel nervous or vulnerable, so I make it a priority to ensure every client feels comfortable, respected, and at ease from the moment they walk through the door. I want every appointment to feel less like a service and more like a moment of self-care.
One of the things I’m most proud of is that my business is built on purpose. Beyond Bare Beauty is rooted in my faith, and the foundation of my brand comes from Song of Solomon 4:7: “You are altogether beautiful, my darling; there is no flaw in you.” That verse reminds me that beauty already exists within each person. My role is simply to help my clients recognize it and leave feeling even more confident in themselves.
In addition to being an esthetician, I’m currently a nursing student and will be graduating this year. Nursing has only deepened my passion for caring for others, and it’s reinforced what I’ve always loved most about this industry: helping people feel their best, both physically and emotionally.
At the heart of everything I do is a genuine love for people. Whether someone comes in for a brow wax, a facial, or a full-body wax, I want them to feel seen, cared for, and valued. My hope is that every client leaves Beyond Bare Beauty not only loving their results but also feeling refreshed, empowered, and reminded of the beauty they already have.
Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
One of my favorite childhood memories is simply spending time with my family. Some of my happiest moments weren’t anything extravagant, they were the everyday memories of being together, laughing, celebrating holidays, and enjoying each other’s company. My siblings grew up in a different state than me so it was always so nice when we could spend time together. Those memories with my family taught me the importance of connection, kindness, and making people feel loved
Looking back, I think those experiences played a big role in shaping who I am today. They gave me a genuine love for caring for others and creating spaces where people feel comfortable, welcomed, and appreciated
