Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexis Goodwin.
Hi Alexis , so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I’ve always had a passion for creating beautiful, meaningful experiences, but my journey into wedding planning truly began when I started planning my own wedding. What began as a side hustle quickly evolved into a full-time career.
Over the years, I’ve invested in my education, built strong relationships with incredible vendors, and refined my eye for both design and logistics.
Today, I’m grateful to work with couples across the U.S. and internationally, curating weddings that authentically reflect their personalities, love stories, and dreams. My journey has been rooted in creativity, attention to detail, and a deep commitment to serving my clients at the highest level.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road. Like many entrepreneurs, I faced the challenge of starting with limited resources. In the early days, I had to balance building my client base while still learning the industry’s best practices, all while navigating the pressure to deliver flawless events.
There were also seasons of self-doubt, wondering if I could truly compete in the luxury wedding market and moments where unexpected challenges, like last-minute vendor cancellations or shifting client expectations, tested my problem-solving skills.
But each obstacle pushed me to become more resilient, resourceful, and intentional about the clients I serve and the experiences I create. Those challenges shaped me into the planner I am today.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
A. Good Event Planner and Design is a luxury wedding and event planning company dedicated to creating celebrations that are as unforgettable as they are intentional. We specialize in full-service planning, design, and production for weddings across the U.S. and internationally, with a focus on modern elegance, personalized details, and seamless execution.
What sets us apart is our commitment to telling each couple’s story through every element of their day, whether that’s a custom tablescape inspired by their travels, a menu that reflects their cultural heritage, or a design plan that feels like stepping into their dream vision. We’re not just creating events; we’re crafting experiences that linger in the hearts of our clients and their guests long after the last dance.
Brand-wise, I’m most proud of the relationships we’ve built not only with clients but with a trusted network of top-tier vendors who share our high standards for service and artistry. Our work is rooted in collaboration, creativity, and an unwavering attention to detail.
For readers, I want them to know that when they work with us, they’re not just hiring a planner—they’re gaining a partner who will guide them through the process with care, clarity, and expertise, ensuring their wedding is both a beautiful reflection of their love story and a flawless guest experience.
Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
Over the next 5–10 years, I see the wedding industry becoming even more experience-driven. Couples are moving away from cookie-cutter formats and leaning into celebrations that fully reflect their personalities, values, and lifestyles. This means more immersive guest experiences. Such as multi-day events, interactive food and beverage moments, and personalized design elements that feel one-of-a-kind.
Technology will also continue to shape the planning process, with virtual venue tours, AI-assisted design previews, and streamlined communication tools making it easier for couples to plan from anywhere in the world.
I also think the demand for destination weddings will keep growing, not just internationally but within hidden-gem locations in the U.S., as couples seek to blend travel with celebration. At the same time, luxury will be redefined—not just by budget, but by intentionality, meaning, and guest experience.
