Hidden Gems: Meet Taylor Semrow of Sirona Wellness Spa

Today we’d like to introduce you to Taylor Semrow.

Hi Taylor, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
Sirona Wellness Spa was a dream that was envisioned by myself and Jason Spencer. I threw the idea out at him in early 2021, and he was nothing but extremely supportive. We have both been passionate about wellness, which is how we got into float therapy and is one of the reasons why I started massage therapy school. I went on a personal journey but turns out it was my absolute passion. I would recommend float therapy to all of my clients, but they had a hard time traveling 30+ minutes to the nearest float center. One day, Jason and I just decided, “Why don’t we just bring floating here?” which is exactly what we did.

We combined my previous bachelor’s degree in Entrepreneurship/Business Management with massage school and Jason’s Master’s in Marketing/Strategic Communication, and we were off!

Our goal was to create a therapeutic wellness center that focuses on both the mind and body. We wanted to become a welcoming place for our community, a safe haven.

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road is never smooth, but that’s the beauty of life. Our major struggles were what you would expect during Covid-19 – labor shortages with contractors and supply chain issues. We opened about 6 months later than expected, but we had a great team, and the project got finished.

As you know, we’re big fans of Sirona Wellness Spa. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Sirona Wellness Spa is located in St Clair Shores and provides a variety of different therapeutic treatments. We feature Float Therapy, various types of massage therapies such as ashiatsu, Deep Tissue, Cupping Massage, and more, and an Infrared Sauna. We also offer monthly membership options so that guests can stay consistent with taking care of themselves.

What sets us apart from others is that we aren’t your typical spa. From the moment you walk through the door, you feel welcomed as a friend. Our goal is to make everyone as comfortable as possible. We understand that taking care of yourself isn’t always the first thing on your to-do list, but it should be, and it takes a lot for people to set that time out of their day for themselves. With our various treatment offers, people are welcome to come in for one session or to spend a few hours enjoying various modalities. We also have a lounge that is stocked with local teas so that guests can take as must time as they need after their service for themselves so that they aren’t rushed back into the “real world.”

The massage therapists at Sirona Wellness Spa are all very passionate about what they do. They treat every client with care and respect. They listen to their needs/expectations and customize each session towards those goals. They also give you suggestions after your service for stretches or suggestions based on what they noticed.

Our retail section in our lobby is curated to offer essential self-care tools so that you can make sure you’re staying on top of your mental and physical health. We have various items such as affirmation cards, magnesium muscle sprays, dry brushes, gua sha tools, and even wonderful teas to take home with you.

What are your plans for the future?
As for now, we are enjoying finally being open. We expect that the future will have big plans for us, and we can’t wait to see what that is.
