Hidden Gems: Meet STEVE CARO of Great Lakes Yurt Co.

Today we’d like to introduce you to STEVE CARO.

Hi STEVE, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started off in the restaurant business and eventually ended up in the building trades. From there I got into the niche of yurt manufacturing. This led me into the campground and short term rental business. I do a combination of everything except the restaurant business to this day.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
There have been many challenges along the way from learning the sewing industry and best products for yurt manufacturing to learning codes, obtaining permits and all the things that go along with a new business.

As you know, we’re big fans of Great Lakes Yurt Co.. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
We make custom yurt kits that ship all over the country. They are used for campgrounds, airbnbs, studios, forest schools, hunting camps, homes and much more. The yurts are the most affordable insulated structure on the market and set up quickly. Our customers use them year round in all climates, and they are structurally engineered.
We are a small family run business that is able to provide the highest quality yurts at the most competitive price on the market. We also offer overnight yurt stays in Michigan’s beautiful upper peninsula.

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
Our experience and customer service is the best in the business. We stand by our product 100% and ensure all of our customers are happy.
