Today we’d like to introduce you to Shalonda Scott.
Hi Shalonda, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started my business as a side hustle while working in ER as a Registered Nurse. I became interested in the beauty industry and got really excited when I learned that I can combine the both. I started my business in 2018, I first started out doing lash extensions. I then grew to a non-medical spa adding additional services. In 2023 I was able to expand into a medical spa and add more services, some of those being Lipo- dissolve injections, IV Hydration, Vitamin shots, and medical weight loss programs
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Hellllll naw lol, nothing about this journey was easy. All I knew was Nursing and healthcare so starting a business was completely foreign for me. I just kept going and learned as I went. I think the hardest part was self discipline. When I started my business it was a side hustle but fast forward, in 2021 I left bedside nursing and ran my business full time, that’s when I realized I couldn’t treat it as a side gig anymore. I had to learn how to become more business minded.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I own a medical spa boutique
I specialize in medical weight loss, Lipo dissolve injections and Post- Op care. What sets me apart is the 20 yr nursing background and the fact that I only do what’s best for my clients. They know I’m going to keep it real with them whether they want to hear a different answer or not. I’m most proud that I found the strength to keep going and building my business while over coming so many obstacles. And that my clients truly trust me as a person as well as a provider. What are your plans for the future?
I’m not sure what the future holds at this very moment.
But Esthetician Suites are also being offered.
