Hidden Gems: Meet Scott Tucker of EZIA CREATIONS LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Scott Tucker.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started out one summer trying to make a little extra money to help out with bills/fun money for the summer by making 16x16x17 cedar planter boxes. As the summer went on I realized that this gained a lot more traction then I was expecting. I began getting custom orders for different sizes and quantities. My weekend side hustle ended up bleeding into the week and taking up most of my free time. There were many nights that I was cleaning up in the dark as I was trying to finish up orders. I was getting so many orders during the summer that I had to create a spreadsheet to keep track of when someone ordered to when they picked it up. Near the end of that first year I ended up picking up a laser to allow me to add custom engravings to these boxes. Once I got the Laser that opened up so many options for me. I now could customize planter boxes, tumblers, cutting boards and more. Once I realized the possibilities, I decided that I needed to see what it took to create an LLC. I was able to set up my LLC EZIA Creations with help from my CPA. From there I have spent the last few years growing by reinvesting into my company by buying new machines and growing my knowledge. I now have the capabilities to do wood working, laser engraving, 3d Printing and vinyl. I already have ideas on how I would like to expand in my capabilities.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
For the most part it has been pretty smooth. As I have been trying to design my own products and watching them come from a prototype to a 3d printed product, I have run into a couple snags. My First Design was for a vape holder. It fit a specific brand. I set it up on TikTok shop and Etsy specifying that it was for a certain brand. I got my first orders and it went great. I did not take into consideration that the product description would not always be read. I started getting bad reviews and returns because my product did not fit their brand of product. Sadly due to the confusion behind this product I ended up taking it down. This did not completely discourage me from designing but kept me looking for my next Idea. Which came to me over this summer. I have now designed a product for Hair tie holders that can attach to purses, Backpacks, keys and the list goes on.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
For the most part I have grown my business on customization. I love being able to take someone’s Idea and bring it life. My main products are Cedar planter boxes, engraved tumblers, engraved cutting boards and 3d printing. The Thing that I think that sets me apart from others is trying to make the customer feel like they are the most important customer I have. My business is not just the products that I sell but the relationships that I make from my customers. I want them to be able to promote me just not by the quality of my products but the customer service that I provide. The thing that I am most proud of is my new design that I created on my own. The Hair tie holder is something as a father and someone that just chopped 2 feet of hair off could use every day. You do not know the pain of combing out dried Ice cream out of a kids hair. The thing that I would like your readers to know about me is that I am a small business dedicated to the customer. I want you to be completely happy with the service that I provide. I offer Woodworking services, Engraving services and 3d printing services. My main goal is to make you happy!

How do you define success?
Success in my mind can be seen in many ways. Customer satisfaction is one of my main measurements of success. Without a happy customer you cannot grow to your full potential. Growing as a person and learning new skills is another way I view success. You should never stay stagnate because you always have something that can help you grow. Finally success can be measured by how your business performs. I do not think you can fully succeed at what you are doing unless you are happy with what you are doing.
