Today we’d like to introduce you to Sara Bryson
Hi Sara, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
From a young age, I recall a fascination with organization, often expressing a desire to tidy my father’s office and desk during childhood visits to his workplace.
I started my journey in the professional organization world in my home state of California. After receiving my Bachelors degree in Communication Studies from San Jose State University, I started as an assistant organizer in Santa Cruz. I soon relocated to San Francisco where I joined a large team of organizers. Eventually, I made the move to Michigan where I established my own company, Sorted by Sara.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Yes, there were definitely some challenges along the way. One of the more significant challenges I faced was, starting my company in a new state where I had few personal connections. I overcame this by networking with other women in the business community, fostering mutually supportive relationships that have proven invaluable. This experience taught me the importance of expanding one’s professional network and actively seeking new opportunities for yourself.
We’ve been impressed with Sorted by Sara, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My business specializes in creating organizational solutions, tailored to the needs of each individual client. My ultimate goal is to assist clients in maximizing their productivity by creating calm and efficient spaces. I bring my desire for an efficient workspace to each and every client I work with and am always on the lookout for unique spaces that might need my assistance.
What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
We will definitely see growth within the professional organization industry over the next 5-10 years. That growth is the result of a few factors, the first being the increased awareness around organization in one’s personal and professional life. We now know how these services improve productivity and efficiency. The second factor is that people now own more items. With the easy access to online shopping and influence of social media, we are buying more items than ever before. The last factor is our lives are busy and only becoming more demanding. The need for better time management has become more important. We are wanting to optimize our time so we can focus on what’s important. I am still learning, growing and creating but I look forward to seeing where this industry takes me over the next 5 years.
