Today we’d like to introduce you to Richelle Lester.
Hi Richelle, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
After serving as an Assistant Prosecutor for Wayne County, I began working as a staff attorney with UAW Legal Services in 1998. Since that time, I have gained extensive experience across a broad range of legal areas, including insurance, bankruptcy, landlord-tenant disputes, real estate, guardianship, estate planning, and probate. I have successfully handled numerous bench and jury trials, arbitration hearings, and even an appellate court case.
In 2004, I was promoted to manager, overseeing offices that focused on general civil litigation. In November 2013, I opened my own law practice, Law Office of Richelle C. Lester, PLLC, with a concentration in estate planning, probate, real estate, and family law.
I became a realtor in 2002 and a real estate broker in 2024 and opened Legacy In Deed, Realty, LLC.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No, it has not been a smooth road. It was difficult to make the decision to open a law office. I struggled with the fact that I had a goal to open a law office before I went to law school and the reality that it is not as easy it sounds to actually do it. I stepped out on faith not knowing if I would have clients, or succeed. It was a struggle in the beginning to keep the office going during times when clients were not paying, or during slow seasons. It was a struggle trying to find suitable legal assistants. It is a struggle to figure out how to scale the business to higher new staff.
As you know, we’re big fans of Law Office of Richelle C Lester PLLC. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Law Office of Richelle C. Lester, PLLC specializes in providing high quality affordable legal services for the average person. I concentrate in the areas of family law, probate, estate planning and real estate cases. When it comes to real estate, clients have a realtor who has practical experience in law disputing real estate cases. If a client has a Probate Estate, we can handle it. If there is real estate that needs to be sold in a Probate Estate, we can handle it.
What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
I must walk by faith and not by sight. There is always hope if I keep moving forward. I believe in myself and know that God is with me.
