Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
As a woman business owner, wife, and mother, the biggest challenge has been time management. When my kids were little, I worked from home and intentionally kept my business part-time. My priority was taking care of my family first. As the kids grew older, I had more time to dedicate to the business, and we grew gradually. I brought in assistants to help manage the workload and maintain that balance.

While I often felt behind where I wanted to be, I trusted God’s plan and stayed focused on what mattered most. Every step I took was intentional, even when the pace felt slower than I envisioned. Looking back, I know I was exactly where I needed to be at every stage.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?

Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
Mentorship & Networking Are Critical for Success

I’ve been fortunate to experience both throughout my journey, starting from my upbringing. Growing up, I was heavily involved in the livestock industry, which not only shaped my work ethic but also became the foundation of my early business ventures. Livestock farms and agribusinesses were some of my first clients—and some of them remain valued clients to this day. Having a network of business owners who already knew and trusted me when I began offering website design services gave me a significant advantage. After all, people do business with those they like and trust!

The livestock industry was also where I found my first mentors. From bosses during marketing internships to family friends who had successfully run PR firms, I was blessed to have experienced, knowledgeable people I could turn to for advice. Having someone to bounce ideas off—someone who has already walked the path you’re on—is incredibly valuable.

Each season of growth in my business has been tied to intentional networking. Interestingly, during a season when my kids were little and involved in sports, much of my networking happened at the hockey rink. Many of the parents I connected with there worked in or owned businesses that needed websites. So, while I wasn’t attending formal networking events, I was networking right where I was in that stage of life. Some of those hockey parents are still long-time clients today.
