Hidden Gems: Meet Noah Hudson-Peralta of NHP Studio & Equal Accessibility

Today we’d like to introduce you to Noah Hudson-Peralta.

Hi Noah, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I first connected with a camera when I was just 3 years old. Like many families, my mom and dad filmed everything on their VHS camera. At a young age I was always intrigued by technology, I would always pick up my parents camera and film my toy trains and hotwheels. As I got older, I didn’t shoot to much until my Sophmore year of Highschool when I took a Tv & Broadcast media class. This was the first time in over 10 years I reconnected with a camera.

I then instantly fell in love with coming to school everyday and could not wait to get into my video class. Every video project was filled with passion and hard work. Each project I went above and beyond to make the best work possible. Towards the end of the school year, I attended multiple high school film festivals. I not only took first place in 3 separate film festivals, but also won over $5000 in cash prizes. It was at this moment I realized that this was something I could make a career out of and decided to start my own Freelance Photo/Video business called NHP Studio.

Over the next two years of school, I continue to work on growing my own business and continue entering into HS film festivals. I ended getting chosen out of 20 students in the USA to attend the PBS Student Reporting Labs in Washington DC. During this fully paid trip, I had the opportunity to work with other like minded individuals and learn from industry professionals.

After this experience, I feel like I jumped to another level of artistry. I began to become more creative and started to create more music videos and creative ads for businesses and brands. At 17, I did my first big shoot for Spalding Basketball, and just a couple months before I shot my first concert at Eastern Michigan of Juice WRLD.

I graduated high school in 2019, at 17 years old. Since I was already pretty successful running my own business, I decided not to pursue college and go 120% on NHP Studio. At the end of the year I attended my last film festival, The All American High School Film Festival. This is where I met even more likeminded creatives & students, and my life changed forever.

At the festival I met Dylan Smyth a filmmaker/music artists, after talking for sometime we decided to sneak out of our hotel at 3am to shoot a music video in the middle of Times Square. I had nothing but 1 camera and 1 lens but what we created is something that will hold a place in our hearts forever. Smyth was from Richmond, VA and I was from Detroit. The chances of us coming together are almost impossible and that is something we recognized. After the festival we stayed in touch and 5 months later I flew down to Richmond to meet more of his crew “Kidz At Play”.

In 2020 I joined Kidz At Play, an art collective of 11 different artists ranging from Filmmakers, music artists, graphic designers, djs and more. I spent all of 2020 traveling back and forth to help grow the group KAP. We would throw backyard live shows, mini boiler rooms, and even held random pop ups to display our art. In 2021 we started to pick up traction and I decides to move to Richmond, VA and work full time for KAP. I was only 19 at the time, and took a risk by leaving my home in Detroit to follow my dreams.

Forever i believed that no matter what we want to do in life it’s possible. It’s something that my mom and dad has engrained into me ever since I was a child.

While living in Richmond, it was my dream to one day go on tour. And october my biggest dream became a reality. One of my favorite artists at the time “IDK” posted on twitter that he needed a photographer/videographer for his tour the next day. I responded with all of my work, and 2 hours later I found out I was going on a 2 week tour across the United States. This was one of the most insane moments of my life.

After tour, i felt again that I have leveled up. I was surrounded by industry professionals and learned everything I could to help grow my own businesses even more. The next year 2022, Kidz at Play grew even more traction. We were selling out shows, merch, etc and were starting to really grow on social media. The entire year we were in talks with Major Labels such as UMG, Roc Nation, and Sony. It wasn’t until 2023 until we reached an agreement with an independent label under Sony Music. What’s cool is all 11 artists names were on the contract, because we believed we couldnt create anything without all 11 artists. So even tho I may not make music, I’m a signed recording artist. Last year, we opened for Pusha T, Smino, and even went on our own tour across the east coast.

Now I live back home in Detroit and travel back and forth to work with Kidz At Play. More recently I have found myself getting involved in the automotive world here in michigan. I combined my love for cars and photo, and began working for dealerships and car companies here in Michigan.

I feel just as i did as a kid taking pictures of my hot wheels as I do now when I get to capture these supercars. It’s all because I believed that anything i wanted to do in life is possible.

That is my goal in life… To show as many people as I can that whatever you love to do, you can make a living out of it.

But this is not the only thing I’m doing, I also have a business with my dad. Our business Equal Asseccability is a consulting agency that is helping to create more inclusive and accessible spaces for anyone with disabilities. We’ve recently worked with Rocket Morgtage Field House in Cleveland, OH, 3 auditoriums in Indiana, and multiple dealerships.

As you can see, I love to help people in anyway possible. I’m truly blessed to be living the dream every single day…

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No it hasn’t been a smooth road along the way, but nowhere has perfect roads. Witnessing my dad face challenges every single day in life growing up has shown me it’s just apart of life. My dad (Ryan) was born without Arms or legs and was doubted everyday of his life. Doctors said he would never have a family, drive a car, or work a regular job. All in which he’s accomplished.

From a young age, i was aware of this. Everytime I would face new struggles I had someone to look up to, and to get the push to keep going no matter what. Understanding that rough times are just apart of life, and it’s a test to see if we keep going. The ones who can keep pushing are the ones who make it in my opinion.

When I decided to move to Virginia at 19, I had no financial backing. It was totally up to me to make this opportunity happen, I had no idea how I would cover my $1400 apartment rent and other bills. But I just figured it out, and when you take high risks. The universe will reward you for it.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
since 2015 NHP STUDIO has grown to become an all-around creative agency. I started by just shooting for sneaker stores to now working with global brands around the world. I help small and big businesses, grow their social media and help bring them more customers to their platforms. I do this by understanding, the social algorithms and how to make creative videos and photos.

I feel like I am most known for my creative style and unique look to my photo and videos. I believe it set me apart is my ability to connect with everyone. I work with on a personal level and ways to involve our work.

NHP STUDIO can help create creative commercials, ads, or even photo shoots for their brand. We can help you grow your social media following or even run your social medias for you.

My business that I’m very passionate about is Equal Accessibility.

At Equal Accessibility is our mission to go above the ADA standards and make more inclusive and accessible spaces for people with disabilities. running this business with my dad as what set us apart, For years, we have gone to a different events arenas and spaces And due to his disability, our experience has been downgraded. We are taking everything that we’ve learned over the years and using that to help improve the spaces that we work with. My dad has a disabled person is able to give his unique perspective of what it’s like to maneuver a building or space. For me as a caregiver, I’m able to give another unique perspective to make sure that the families that come with someone who is disabled have an equal experience as everyone else.

What’s next?
My plans for the future are huge, But my overall goal is to help as many people as possible. In September is Detroit month of design, And I am planning to do a art/car show Presenting my own work. All of the proceeds will be donated to a local nonprofit that helps kids and adults with disabilities. I want to bring all communities together and show that when people come together great things happen.
