Today we’d like to introduce you to Mirvet Makki.
Hi Mirvet, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I started in may of 2018 in a small commercial kitchen did so well from day one then in 2019 I was so blessed and was offered to take over the catering section at Zaman international where I did very well there and grew stronger! I. 2023 I moved to Bint jebail cultural center and ran my business out of their kitchen until July of 2024 where my dream of having my own banquet became a reality and here I am at Dearborn banquet fulfilling my dreams
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I can say things are smooth now! I experienced a lot of obstacles in the beginning as far as quality control and pricing but now that I have things figured out, things are going very smooth. It was just kinda hard and tough when things went up in price in China and after Covid, trying to keep the same quality of food and keeping everything cost-effective, that was one of the most challenging things I had to go through alongside with finding employees that are willing to work
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Divine Dine Detroit is a woman owned and operated business. We are a full catering service. We offer Catering on site and offsite.
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
My kids have paid the highest price in my success because I did not get to spend as much time with them as I was growing my business they would often come with me to work. I had a special section for them so they won’t be away from me, also my husband and my family were very supportive and helped me a lot
