Today we’d like to introduce you to Marco Yaquinto.
Hi Marco , so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started my YouTube channel The Scratch Golf Show in April of 2024 because I wanted to have an outlet to talk about golf. My wife famously told me to STFU and start it arleady because I was always talking about starting it. Learning YouTube is very difficult but very rewarding. Since I started in 2024 I have gained almost 15,000 YouTube subscribers, 10 million views, and carved out my niche in the YouTube Golf Space. The YouTube golf space has exploded since covid and there is room for media covering the top topics in the space and interviewing the top creators in the space.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No it has been far from smooth one of biggest struggle is learning how to do social media, each app is its own beast and has its own algorithm. You need to be big on every app , YouTube, Tiktok, and Instagram to make money. Learning to edit from scratch and learning how to run a business also were pretty tough obstabcles.
The biggest struggle is not giving up and getting thru to lows and struggle. You HAVE to keep going because everyone has their own road when it comes to social media. There has been plenty of times where I wanted to quit, but I have always kept going. My mantra is NEVER stop posting.
We’ve been impressed with The Scratch Golf Show , but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I run a full scale media company and golf podcast. I specialize in social media, and am known for being one of the top commentators in the YouTube Golf Space. What sets me apart is I have built this from nothing, I have built it from the ground up and have made a name for myself in a space that is very difficult to make a name for yourself. I am most proud of interviewing the biggest creators in the space, and I did so by working hard and using my skills in selling to sell myself to people and brands.
What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
The YouTube Golf / Golf industry is booming and will continue to grow over the next 5-10 years. Big shifts will be big prize pool tournaments for creators.
