Today we’d like to introduce you to Lauren Wesson.
Lauren, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I had a job downtown Detroit I loved & was randomly laid off one day with hundreds of others. I was stuck not knowing how I would pay my bills & just started cooking dinners for people, but I drifted off into doing desserts instead & decided I liked making desserts even more. Started selling items from my home until it got over crowded with people coming there & was blessed to be able to open a store front.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has definitely not been smooth. Learning how to run a business professionally on my own and dealing with all the problems that may come my way rather it being prices of products rising or the slow downs for business at times but still having a ton of overhead costs.
We’ve been impressed with Sweetalicious Sweets LLC, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I own a bakery which specializes in custom cakes but I also offer small treats that are available for walk in purchases
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Making others happy. I love making items for customers that that leave with happy & satisfied.
