Hidden Gems: Meet Kelsie Noble Terry of Pink Pineapple Boutique

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kelsie Noble Terry.

Kelsie Noble Terry

Hi Kelsie, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I am a Terre Haute native where I attended Indiana State University. I graduated with my Bachelor’s degree in Business Management and Marketing and lived in California until 2015. This is where I was first introduced to the boutique world, and my love for fashion really took off. God then called me to move to the Michiana area where I am now married, a bonus mom to 3 boys + a fur baby, expecting a baby girl in August, and enjoy being active with our church.

In 2019 I competed in the Mrs. Indiana program, where I would befriend the original founder of Pink Pineapple Boutique. Within a year, God had orchestrated the most beautiful friendship between us. That bond, coupled with her desire to start a family and move on from entrepreneurship, created the opportunity for me to take over ownership in February of 2020. It was a dream come true, and I love learning new and better ways to serve the women who shop with me.

No one could have predicted the pandemic that would take place just a short month later in March of 2020, almost to the day. During the few months when the storefront had to remain closed, I went live on Facebook showing items and shipping them out multiple times a week. This season really helped me expand my online presence, and to this day we have a really great community I lovingly refer to as my “Pink Pinies.”

In September of 2021, I moved locations and am now located in “Old” Granger on State Road 23 or Adams Road, in between Yesterday’s and Salsa’s restaurants. My husband helped me paint the outside of the building pink, so if you are passing by you can’t miss it! The inside is very “homey,” and this space has been a wonderful move for us. We enjoy hosting events and other small business vendors throughout the year and are so proud to have been named either a finalist or winner of South Bend’s Community Choice Awards each year since we opened.

Since I started with PPB, I have strived to keep the prices affordable, the pieces modest, trendy, and feminine, and the atmosphere happy and welcoming. I have been to a few markets and pop-up events out in the community and even added a website for online shopping. My hope is that I will continue to grow and foster an environment that is a reflection of grace, sisterhood, and beauty for years to come.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has been quite the learning experience! As I mentioned before, the pandemic took place just one month after I took over ownership of the boutique. It was scary having bills due but not being able to open the doors for a few months. However, the online community that was created throughout that year is still alive and well today, and I am grateful for that season because it pushed me outside of my comfort zone. I have had to learn how to get creative with where and how I sell, including keeping up with the latest social media trends. I think all entrepreneurs can relate when I say that finding the balance between work and home life is one of the biggest struggles of all. But I have enjoyed pouring my heart into creating a store that I can truly be proud of.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
PPB is a women’s clothing and accessory boutique. We specialize in affordable, trendy, feminine pieces that will have you feeling cute and comfortable. We currently carry sizes small-Xlarge in-store and offer pre-orders in our Facebook VIP group, where you can choose your size from small-3x. Our aesthetic is bright and happy, girly, and just make you want to smile. We are faith-based at heart, so you will find some graphic tees and accessories that speak to that, too. We like to boast that anyone from Grandma to Granddaughter can shop and find something they love here!

We love surprises, fun facts, and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
I try to share as much of my personal life/brand with my Pink Pinie followers as possible. I think it’s important to build a community with trust and honesty. If you are coming to me and looking for something to wear to an event, I want to make sure you feel confident in the recommendations I am giving to you.
