Today we’d like to introduce you to Kelly Toland.
Hi Kelly, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
Le Bon Macaron started in 2010 in East Lansing, Michigan as a small sister company to our cake business at the time, A Piece O’ Cake. In 2015 we expanded Le Bon Macaron and opened our first cafe location in Grand Rapids. Ann Arbor followed in 2017. Our third location will open in Holland in March 2023. It now employs our entire family and has grown into something even more amazing than we could have imagined!
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
We have been very blessed to have had a relatively smooth road! When we opened our first cafe in 2015, we had no idea how the business would transform overnight so that was a challenge keeping up with the demand with very little preparation on our part. But we did it!

Le Bon Macaron specializes in French macarons. We are Michigan’s finest source for uniquely crafted French macarons. We have been serving Michigan since 2010 with three locations in Grand Rapids, Ann Arbor, and Holland. We are a family business baking all of our macarons in Grand Rapids, Michigan. We have over 100 flavors that rotate through our stores! In our cafes we serve espresso, coffee, and tea and pair them with our handcrafted flavored syrups. We place a high importance on quality ingredients and exceptional products.
What matters most to you? Why?
Customer service and our staff matter to us most. Without our customers, we wouldn’t have a business! We appreciate that they choose us to be a part of their everyday indulgence or special occasions and we don’t take that lightly. Our staff is an extension of our family and we treat them as such. We value them and strive to provide a home away from home at work.
