Hidden Gems: Meet Keely Iacovoni of Mutually Human

Today we’d like to introduce you to Keely Iacovoni.

Hi Keely, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I started my career in tech sales after realizing how much I enjoyed the mix of problem-solving, communication, and relationship-building. Early on, I learned that I’m most energized when I’m helping people connect the dots. Understanding what they’re trying to achieve and guiding them toward solutions that genuinely make their work easier or more effective.

I spent time building a strong foundation in fintech sales and then joined ZoomInfo, which was a turning point for me. It was a fast-paced, high-performance environment where I sharpened my prospecting strategy, learned to navigate complex buying groups, and built the discipline to manage large, dynamic pipelines. That experience really shaped my ability to execute consistently at a high level.

From there, I moved into a more strategic role at Mutually Human. Today, I work with organizations on digital transformation, custom software solutions, and emerging AI initiatives. It’s allowed me to evolve from a purely transactional sales approach into more of a consultative, advisory one…asking deeper questions, understanding long-term goals, and helping clients build solutions that truly move their business forward.

Overall, my path has been about growth and adaptability. I’ve followed the opportunities that challenged me, leaned into learning, and have built a career around being a trusted partner to the organizations I work with.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been completely smooth. Early on, I struggled to build confidence in tech sales and to handle rejection and high expectations. Moving into fast-paced environments like ZoomInfo pushed me outside my comfort zone. The pressure and constant performance metrics were challenging at first, but they ultimately helped me develop discipline and resilience.

Shifting into a more strategic, consultative role at Mutually Human also came with a learning curve. Longer, more complex sales cycles required patience, deeper technical understanding, and the ability to guide clients through big decisions.

Each challenge along the way has pushed me to grow, adapt, and refine my approach, and I’m stronger because of it.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Mutually Human is a digital transformation and custom software development firm based here in West Michigan. We help organizations modernize how they work through custom applications, automation, data solutions, and now AI-driven tools and strategy. What makes us different is the way we partner with clients. We’re not just a development shop. We take a very consultative, human-centered approach, making sure we deeply understand the business problem before we ever talk about technology.

We’re known for building solutions that are truly tailored, whether that’s a full-custom platform, a mobile app, an internal workflow tool, or an AI project that improves efficiency and decision-making. Our team blends strong technical expertise with a focus on usability and long-term sustainability, which is something I’m really proud of. We want the tools we build to actually get used, solve real problems, and grow with an organization.

What I’m most proud of brand-wise is our commitment to meeting clients where they are. Not every organization has a full IT team, a clear roadmap, or the perfect requirements, and that’s okay. We guide them through the process, help clarify their needs, and deliver solutions that make a real impact on their day-to-day work.

If your readers remember one thing about Mutually Human, I’d want it to be this: we help organizations evolve. Whether they’re exploring AI, modernizing legacy systems, or trying to create better digital experiences, we offer the expertise and partnership to turn those ideas into reality.

How do you think about luck?
Luck has played a role at different points in my career, but I see it as a mix of timing, opportunity, and preparation. Being in the right place at the right time has opened doors, but I had to be ready to take advantage of them.

On the other hand, challenges that felt like bad luck taught me lessons that made me more adaptable and resilient. In the end, luck matters, but effort, curiosity, and persistence determine how far it takes you.
