Hi Donald & Africa, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Donald and I were both just 25 years old when we took the biggest leap of faith of our lives. Donald left his job as an industrial plant worker, and I walked away from my career as a dental assistant. With no prior experience in entrepreneurship, we bet on ourselves and started a credit repair business, which quickly grew into a six-figure company.
After finding success in credit repair, we took another leap this time into the tax industry with no prior tax experience. We invested our entire savings into opening our first tax office, determined to build something that would change our family’s future. In our very first year, our business generated over $500,000 in revenue.
At the time, we had just welcomed our first child together and were raising three children. We weren’t seasoned entrepreneurs we were simply two young parents with a vision, unwavering faith, and a relentless work ethic.
As our business continued to grow, we expanded beyond preparing taxes and began partnering with aspiring entrepreneurs to help them launch and grow their own tax businesses. Through our mentorship program, we’ve helped countless individuals build successful businesses, with FOUR mentees reaching six figures.
Today, our companies have grown into a seven-figure organization, but our success wasn’t built overnight. It was built through consistency, sacrifice, resilience, and a commitment to keep showing up year after year. Every season taught us something new, and we made the necessary changes to continue growing.
More than anything, our journey has been fueled by our faith in God, our love and belief in one another, and the shared vision we refused to give up on. That’s how we got to where we are today and we’re just getting started.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it definitely hasn’t been a smooth road but it has been worth every step.
Like many couples in business, we’ve faced our share of challenges. There were moments when we didn’t always see eye to eye, times when we lacked support from others, and seasons filled with uncertainty where we had no idea what the next step would look like. Building a business from the ground up while raising a family came with sacrifices, setbacks, and countless lessons.
What has made the difference is our decision to keep going. We refused to let obstacles, criticism, or doubt define our journey. Instead, we leaned on our faith, trusted the vision God placed on our hearts, and continued showing up for each other and our business even on the hard days.
Entrepreneurship has stretched us in every way possible, but every challenge has shaped us into stronger leaders, better partners, and better people. Looking back, we wouldn’t change the journey because every obstacle helped build the legacy we’re creating today.

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Africa Taylor – Growing up, I’ve always been known as someone who was kind, helpful, and hardworking. I genuinely enjoyed helping others, and that started at a young age. One of my very first jobs was working at my cousin’s daycare when I was around 13 years old, where I helped care for the children. Even then, I loved the feeling of being productive and contributing wherever I could.
I’ve always had an entrepreneurial mindset and a strong work ethic because I was surrounded by hardworking people who showed me the value of earning what you have. As the youngest of my siblings, I learned early on to be independent, determined, and willing to work for the things I wanted.
Personality-wise, I’ve always been outgoing and friendly. I love connecting with people and building genuine relationships. At the same time, I have an introverted side—I enjoy quiet moments and recharging, even though I’m comfortable leading, speaking, and engaging with others. A fun memory from growing up is being voted Prom Queen in the eighth grade, which reflected the relationships I built with those around me.
Above all, I’ve always dreamed big. Even as a young girl, I wanted to create something meaningful, make an impact, and build a life that was bigger than myself. That desire to strive for greatness has never changed—it has simply evolved into the purpose I walk in today.
Growing up, Donald was known for his incredible work ethic and determination. From a young age, he was always looking for opportunities to earn money and understood the value of hard work. As one of the youngest among his siblings, he developed a strong sense of independence and was always motivated to create more for himself and his family.
Personality-wise, Donald has always been calm, laid-back, trustworthy, and easy to get along with. He’s the type of person who can connect with just about anyone. His positive attitude, genuine smile, and outgoing nature naturally drew people to him. Whether he was organizing gatherings, bringing people together, or simply enjoying life with those around him, he has always had a gift for making others feel welcome.
One of the biggest influences in Donald’s life was watching his mother work tirelessly to provide for their family. Seeing her dedication instilled in him the belief that hard work, consistency, and perseverance always produce results. That lesson became the foundation of the man he is today—a husband, father, entrepreneur, and leader who believes that success is earned through discipline, resilience, and a willingness to outwork yesterday’s version of yourself.
