Hi Consandra, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Hi everyone! I’m Consandra, creator/founder of Eighth & Fifth Home Fragrances. I launched Eighth & Fifth on August 30, 2022 which is my Grandmother’s heavenly birthday. My Grandma was the matriarch of my family and a successful self made businesswoman/entrepreneur. Watching her as I grew up; her hustle, desire to succeed, and trust in God always inspired me to follow in her entrepreneurial footsteps. In 2021, I found myself in a stagnant mental space like many of us as we navigated through the pandemic. Wanting and desiring to tap into my creative side, becoming a candle maker and entrepreneur seemed like the perfect avenue because I LOVE candles! The vibes and ambiance they set along with their relaxing and healing properties, what’s not to love. Also… is your house really clean unless you light a candle afterwards! I also believe entrepreneurship is in my DNA lol! I stepped out on faith and jumped head first into learning all that I could about candles, waxes, fragrance oils, wicks and so much more. Finally, in August 2022, I felt confident enough to launch Eighth & Fifth Home Fragrance. I got to where I am today by the grace of God, my support system that fuels me everyday, loyal customers that appreciate and support Eighth & Fifth, and Me, through my hard work, and will to succeed. With all, Eighth & Fifth has grown each year!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road for me lol! The very first candle I made was terrible! The wick couldn’t keep its flame, the fragrance oil I used was non existent and the wax was awful! Not to mention, trying to build a website with no experience was a NIGHTMARE! I knew I had to regroup. I did more research, ran more tests, made more candles, and kept pushing myself not to give up! I even shed a few tears of frustration along the way. I’m still learning, testing and shedding tears lol but that’s the beauty of this journey! Learn from your mistakes! Grow! Repeat!

Eighth & Fifth Home Fragrances’ mission is to provide customers with non toxic, clean burning, all natural, sustainable, and GREAT SMELLING home fragrances. As the creator/founder of Eighth & Fifth, every product I offer, I make and develop with my own two hands. Every candle, every room & linen spray, every product label, and everything in between. What sets Eighth & Fifth Home Fragrances apart from others are my custom blended fragrances. Using premium fragrance oils, I have developed aromatics that you will not find anywhere else! What I’m most proud of brand wise is the Eighth & Fifth Home Fragrances brand itself! Building a company from ground up has been the most enriching journey. What I want your readers to know about Eighth & Fifth Home Fragrances is EVERY PRODUCT IS MADE WITH THEM IN MIND. Customer satisfaction is my ultimate goal. Lastly, I have some new products that I will be launching soon that I’m very excited about so, STAY TUNED!

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
What makes me most happy is my family and friends!! They have been so supportive and encouraging throughout this journey and I could NOT have done this without them! I LOVE THEM SO MUCH!
