Hidden Gems: Meet Charles McCreary of Dank Dad

Today we’d like to introduce you to Charles McCreary. 

Hi Charles, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
My name is Charles McCreary. I’m a 29-year-old Detroit native and father of two little blessings. Life is all about finding yourself and being happy with who you are, well at least to me. I never imagined a life with children, but it is literally my life, and I wouldn’t change it for a thing. During the pandemic about October 2020, I was fired from my only real career as an adult less than two weeks after jumping the broom. Oddly it was like a weight lifted from my spirit. I wasn’t worried or stressed; I was happy! Sitting in bed with my wife, she asks, “what do YOU want to do?” 

I say being a dad and indulging in cannabis… I’m a DANK DAD! And from there, the brand was born. 

Dank Dad focuses on promoting peace, love, and our favorite flower. Concentrated on breaking the stigma on black men with cannabis and the way it is still viewed in 2022. Along with showcasing hidden talents and leaders of the community, providing a safe place to promote their greatness one session at a time! 

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Along my journey as a cannabis ambassador that also actively promotes being a father, there have been some hurdles along the way. There are those that do not understand the message or feel like the brand is promoting children and cannabis, that is not the case! Smoking responsibly is key in various ways. 

Some people refuse to open up to cannabis and therefore don’t understand the brands true message. 

And then there’s social media, and that’s a battle only the algorithm can conquer. 

Cannabis is a big part of what I do (it’s in the name). But there are still those that look down upon it as an illegal drug instead of how I view it (medicine, relaxation, nature, beauty). 

As you know, we’re big fans of Dank Dad. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about the brand?
Dank Dad is all about loving yourself first and foremost. If you are happy with who you are in this world, not being a detriment to society, and handling your business as adult, then you’ve got a friend in Dank Dad. It’s not just one person; it’s all of us! We all know a Dank Dad out there that is doing what they are supposed to do, going above and beyond for their family, and loving the hell out of their kids. Dank dads don’t have to indulge in cannabis per se; they just have to meet the requirements above. Moms and everyone else in between! 

What’s sets us apart from others is our organic love for everyone, no matter color, race, age, or gender. As long as you are a positive and not a negative. 

I am most proud of how far the brand has come in such a short time and can only imagine where it’ll be in another 2 years.
