For more than three decades, I have dedicated my career to the art of beauty, skincare, and helping people feel confident in themselves. Long before Grande Med Spa was established, I owned and operated Merle Norman Cosmetics at Genesee Valley Mall and later Makin’ Faces Permanent Make-Up Center in Grand Blanc, Michigan. Those experiences gave me the opportunity to build lasting relationships with clients while developing a deep understanding of the beauty and aesthetics industry.
In 2010, my daughter Austin McAuliffe and I turned our shared passion into reality by opening Grande Med Spa. From the beginning, our vision was to create a practice that combined advanced technology with a personalized, patient-focused approach. By blending state-of-the-art laser treatments, my background in cosmetics and beauty, and Austin’s exceptional eye for aesthetics, we created an environment centered on natural-looking, confidence-boosting results.
As the industry has evolved, so have we. Over the years, we have expanded our services to include injectables, advanced laser facial treatments, allowing us to offer comprehensive aesthetic care tailored to each individual client.
What continues to inspire me most is the ability to help people feel beautiful, empowered, and confident at every stage of life. Watching Grande Med Spa grow into a trusted name in the community has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It certainly has not always been a smooth road, but every challenge has helped shape who we are today. One of the biggest challenges in this industry is staying ahead in a field that is constantly evolving. Technology, treatments, and client expectations are always changing, so it has been incredibly important for us to continue learning, growing, and investing in the latest advancements in aesthetics.
Building a business also comes with personal sacrifices. There were many long days, late nights, and moments that required patience, resilience, and faith in our vision. As a mother and daughter team, we have always pushed each other to grow while remaining committed to providing the highest level of care to our clients.
Another challenge has been earning trust in an industry where clients have so many choices. We built Grande Med Spa by focusing on honesty, education, personalized care, and natural-looking results. Over time, those relationships and the trust of our clients became the foundation of our success.
Looking back, every obstacle taught us valuable lessons and made us stronger. Those experiences are what allowed Grande Med Spa to grow into the practice it is today.
