Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t been a smooth road—and I don’t think meaningful journeys ever are.
In 2008, right in the teeth of the global economic crisis, we finally secured our U.S. franchise license — not an ideal moment since prospective franchisees couldn’t get financing. That early setback forced us to pause growth and focus inward: we documented procedures, tightened quality control, built reliable house accounts, and invested in training. Those operational muscles would prove invaluable.
Early on we also hit a classic snag: a bank told us we’d been in business “not long enough” to qualify for a loan. So we bootstrapped — stretching personal savings, reinvesting every dollar, and learning ruthless prioritization. Growth slowed, but those constraints taught discipline and sharpened our unit economics.
Then came an unexpected twist. Before we ever franchised widely in the U.S., buyers in Dubai and Abu Dhabi — including connections to the royal family — approached us, and we sold a master franchise there. Juggling international logistics and franchise law on the fly accelerated our learning curve.
COVID delivered another round of disruption. Even as an essential service, we faced sick staff, client closures, and revenue drops. Instead of retreating, we innovated: we developed steam-based cleaning and sanitizing protocols that allowed us to serve worried clients, recover lost accounts, and differentiate our offering.
Denied loans, ill-timed launches, international surprises, and a pandemic — the road’s been bumpy. Each setback pushed us to adapt, refine systems, and come back stronger.

As you know, we’re big fans of DetailXPerts Franchise Systems, LLC. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
DetailXPerts cleans commercial spaces and vehicles — offices, retail, fleets, and individual cars — using steam-based cleaning and detailing.
What we do
– Deep-clean and sanitize interiors and exteriors of vehicles.
– Provide commercial facility cleaning, spot and restorative cleaning, and specialized sanitization services.
How we do it
– Steam-cleaning technology that penetrates surfaces to remove dirt, grease, and pathogens.
– Uses significantly less water and far fewer chemicals than conventional methods.
– Standardized operating procedures, rigorous training, and quality-control systems ensure consistent results across jobs and locations.
– Franchise model that trains and supports entrepreneurs to deliver the same proven processes and customer experience.

Why we’re different
– Performance + sustainability: steam delivers a deeper, safer clean while cutting water use and chemical exposure.
– Systemized replication: documented processes and training make our results reliable and scalable.
– People-first franchise support: we prioritize employee development, accountability, and mentorship so franchisees can grow responsibly.
– Purpose-driven brand: we balance people, planet, and profit to meet demand for environmentally responsible, high-performance cleaning.
No fluff — we clean better, greener, and consistently, then teach others to do the same.

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
If I had to pick one quality that’s driven our success, it’s consistency — not flashy hustle, but steady, disciplined work. Early on I idolized multitasking; it felt productive until I realized it scattered energy and stretched timelines. We replaced frantic juggling with focused routines: checklists, repeatable processes, and small daily habits that compound into real progress. Those checklists can feel endless, so we learned to prioritize tiny, high-impact actions and measure progress over weeks and months, not hours. Consistency pairs with a core confidence — a quiet belief that tasks will get done if you show up and follow the system. And personally, my faith grounds that persistence, giving me perspective and the resilience to keep going when things get hard. Together, those forces turn good ideas into reliable results.
