Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My name is Ana Alvarez and I have been a barista since 2014. I started my journey during high school and fell in love with handcrafting drinks! I come from a family of entrepreneurs, my parents have been business owners since 2000 and my siblings also have their own businesses. I knew one day I wanted to start my own business and bring my Mexican culture into it! With the help of my sister Alicia, I launched my first Cafecito Alvarez pop up during the summer of 2022. Cafecito Alvarez is a mobile coffee cart, that takes traditional coffee house beverages and adds Mexican ingredients to the mix! We host markets, pop up shops and travel around the community and city to have everyone try a piece of our culture. Cafecito Alvarez is woman owned, family operated and a dream.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Thankfully it’s been a smooth road for us! I have a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a focus in Marketing, and I feel like I do what I love and what I studied everyday! Since my parents have been successful business owners for 25 years, they shine so much light and wisdom into me and my business. I could not do this alone, my siblings are truly my back bone and I thank them everyday for their hard work and lending a hand when I need it. I also LOVE LOVE LOVE my community and city!! I pour into this community so much and they give that energy BACK into my business!

We offer handcrafted Mexican beverages. We believe in community and enjoy hosting events that bring people together. We are woman owned, family operated and hope to bring our culture to more spaces.

Family, Community and doing what you love. My family has been the glue in all of this. They have supported me, uplifted me and provided guidance to me. My community has showed up and showed out! They constantly are pouring into my business and enjoy the spaces we activate. And lastly, doing what I love, I enjoy every experience I’ve had with Cafecito Alvarez and it’s truly special to have something that’s yours!!
