Today we’d like to introduce you to Adam House.
Hi Adam, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
As a kid, I was always interested in tinkering and working on things around the house. I got on the roof with my uncle as a young boy to check out my grandmother’s chimney, helped my dad replace a floor as a teen, and did other things. When I got older throughout the years, I went to several recruitment meetings for various real estate brokerages but never took the plunge.
I was in the corporate world for about 10 years, and it just got to be too political and daunting. Going to work became more of a challenge than a joy. My mom was diagnosed with lung cancer in September of 2018. She passed on March 31st of 2019. That six-month period taught me more about life than I learned in the last 41 years combined. We had lost hope. Shared thoughts about life and things in general.
I missed an opportunity at work that February, a month before she passed. After taking time to heal and not make a decision too hastily I decided to get my real estate license in October of 2019 and haven’t looked back. I left the corporate world in June of 2022. I try to make the best out of every situation, but life is too short to force happiness, personally or professionally.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
This is the hardest thing I have ever done. There are so many different directions and ways to make money in real estate. It is very easy to get caught up in “analysis paralysis” and get stuck over thinking if what you are doing is right or trying to do it all at once and getting burned out.
The best thing to do (with anything, not just real estate) is to practice/perfect one thing and go on to the next. You cannot become successful overnight and no one ever got there by themselves. Ask for help from those who you aspire to be like and find ways you can give them value. It may not seem like it, but everyone has something to add.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
We are a group of agents with a variety of skills. We have agents that work in commercial, investment, and residential, and they are always willing to help build the people around them and share knowledge. I feel like a lot of groups are one-trick-ponies who say they work in a certain area because they worked with that once but mainly do buy and sell residential transactions. We are strong in all areas of real estate.
Our team has a wealth of knowledge that builds their team members to be well-rounded which really is the best way to serve our clients. It is the difference between someone who just filling out the paperwork to help you find your next address and someone who helps build a vision for your future business or home and nurtures our relationship long-term. We want to be your trusted real estate team today, tomorrow, and beyond.
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Success is subjective. Can you do what you normally do, or can budget for what you want to do long-term without sacrificing your work-life balance? If you can do that, you’ve made it in my book.
