G Sayers of Pentwater on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We’re looking forward to introducing you to G Sayers. Check out our conversation below.

Good morning G, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What are you being called to do now, that you may have been afraid of before?
I am feeling a strong pull to be in the public eye in a way that helps empower other women to heed their own call. I’ve never really wanted the “fame and fortune” game, I like my humble little life. Lately though, I have been feeling the pull to use my education, life skills, and gifts to help other women feel the power they’ve been suppressing or avoiding.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I go by G, and I am the sole proprietor of She Does It All, which is really just a heading for some very eclectic skills and services. Ordained Minister, Postpartum Doula, Spiritual Advisor, Intuitive Tarot Reader, Certified Meditation Coach, artist, writer, jewelry crafter, photographer, dancer, and beacon of positive energy. I recently published through B&N Press my books “High With Jack: Pandemic Poetry, Prose, and Photography” and “Witch, Hex Thyself: A Dark Mirror Grimoire” which are both available on Barnes & Noble online stores. “Witch, Hex Thyself” is a combination shadow work journal and spellbook, using Jungian psychology, wild woman Archetypes, and occult principles to work through the tiny curses we cast on ourselves, back when we had no idea what we were doing. It’s meant for those who aren’t into the “love and light only” toxic positivity, those who walk left-hand paths, those who understand and appreciate whole-being wellness. It’s about accepting and integrating the parts of us others told us were bad or too much. There is power there, and I provide some tools to help reclaim that power.

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
As a child, I believed I had to behave, to be good in order to not be seen. I believed it was better to not be seen, because often being seen involved a punishment. I believed I had to quiet myself and shrink to near invisibility, because more often than not being seen meant getting hurt. Letting go of those beliefs, those fear responses, was the most freeing thing I have ever done for myself.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Grief can be overwhelming, and over the last 6 years there has been an overwhelming amount of grief in my life. In my darkest moments, I thought about never writing again, never painting or making a single piece of jewelry again. I thought it would be easier if I just put my head down, go to work, go home, eat, sleep, repeat. Grief, the darkest parts, doesn’t last forever though. I never did give up, I entertained the thought, then I let it go.

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
A project I am committed to, no matter how long it takes, is obtaining property somewhere I can live a sustainable lifestyle while creating more art, jewelry, and books for the rest of the world to enjoy. I would ultimately like to be able to hold Wild Woman retreats, where other women seeking to embrace their own Wild Woman Archetypes in a safe environment can gather multiple times throughout the seasons and engage in wild woman behavior on their terms. Through meditation, movement, and various creative outlets we will engage our inner savage hearts and explore what it means to be truly feral.

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. If you retired tomorrow, what would your customers miss most?
If I retired from my day job today, the people I care for would miss my enthusiasm and joyful optimism, I hope. Not everyone I work with can see my smile, but I hope they feel the warmth of my heart and it reaches them the same.
