Today we’d like to introduce you to Tyronda Sanford.
Hi Tyronda, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Becoming TyOnTheBeat Sanford, where do I start? I was raised by a single mother who was highly into the world of beauty. I’m talking hair, makeup, fashion and I watched her with admiration growing up. I remember sneaking and wearing makeup at a very young age not knowing anything about it other than I loved it. I begin to wear it everyday which gave me the opportunity to practice on myself EVERYDAY getting better and better at my craft. I begin posting pictures of myself and my progress and eventually I gained an audience. At my lowest point while going through a divorce I felt trapped like I had know way out with my 4 children . I started taking clients as a side hustle and working as nurse assistant at night . God blessed my career as a MUA so fast I was able to put my 2 weeks notice in after only 2 months of taking clients. Soon after I got divorced and started a new life journey with my new husband and together we opened 5 salon locations called “The Vanity Room” in the metro Detroit Area.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Being a Buisness owner haven’t always been easy, it have not always been a smooth road but it’s worth the journey… When being asked I always say I could never write a book on business because my business is literally being led by God…..

The Vanity Room is a One Stop Shop Owned by Award winning Makeup Artist Tyronda TyOnTheBeat Sanford. I started doing makeup out the corner of my bedroom before opening her 1st salon in 2020.
The salon is a stable in the community from our talented staff down to the talented owner . We’ve been giving opportunities to the beauty industry even teaching makeup lessons for future makeup artist. The vanity room is a family operated business with goals of opening franchises in the near future. Here at the vanity room we want women and children to not only feel beautiful on the outside but on the inside as well
Who else deserves credit in your story?
I’ve been a makeup artist for 8 years and I’ve owned a storefront for 6, Somehow every year God have blessed us to open a new location. I thank God for my clients who book me day in and day out, my staff who’s helped put The Vanity Room on the map and keeping everything afloat at all locations. . There’s also no better feeling then living my biggest dreams with my Husband as my right hand and partner .
