Today we’d like to introduce you to Tyraa Caldwell.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My name is Tyraa Caldwell I got started in the real estate industry 17 years ago when I started as a personal assistant for a top producing realtor. I worked as a personal assistant. and learned all the ins and outs of the business for about 4 years before becoming licensed in 2009 and from there worked as a Full-time realtor… I joined a very known real-estate team called the Jeff Glover Team with Keller Williams Realty in 2010 and in 2012 had my most successful year as a realtor doing 88 transaction and close to 2 million in sales.
Once in the business of real estate, it didn’t take me long to realize that my niche was working with investor clients. In working with investor clients if you know anything about being an investor you will know that property management is extremely important. My problem was I could never find a good property management company to refer my clients to. I am the type of person if I can’t find someone to do a job right, I will do it myself and that’s exactly what I did… so, with the permission of my current broker at the time I was given the opportunity to manage my clients’ properties myself.
The managing of my clients’ properties quickly grew very fast because of referrals and repeated business… My hope was to keep my clients investing in Detroit so it was very important for the property services to be Great. As my property management business started to grow, I knew it was time for me to obtain my broker’s license in which I did in 2015 and I felt like it was no stopping me at that point.
I had successfully been able to grow the property management company: Tyraa Nicole Property management to close to 400 units by the end of 2021. As a single-member LLC Owner and started to think it was time to have help. Beginning 2022 I began to progress with a joint venture with a Company called home365 whom manages over 7000 properties across the US and would partner with Tyraa Nicole Property Management to start its first venture in the Detroit Market.
As of February 2022, I began my position as the General Manager of Home 365 and Chief broker of Michigan area. This position has helped me to leverage so many of my responsibilities I formerly had as Owner of Tyraa Nicole Property Management and I could begin to focus more on my niche which was helping investor clients to continue to invest in Detroit as well as continue to make sure my current clients were happy but not have to be so involved in the day-to-day activities of property management services.
So now to date that is my focus to continue to assist in Growing Home365 Property management as well as grow a huge team of real estate agents under my real estate brokerage as well.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been smooth at all… some of the challenges I dealt with early on was just learning how to deal with clients. In real estate, we come across so many different people and personalities and sometimes the things we deal with as real estate agents just in the day-to-day transactions is a lot and we have a lot on our plate. So, you have to develop tough skin to deal with some of the struggles of being a real estate agent…
Later on, in my career after becoming a broker and business owner the struggles are hiring and firing staff. I have found that the people you have join your team is so key in being a business owner and making sure that you hire the right people and have the right people on your team. Mainly people that love the business just as much as you do!
We’ve been impressed with Tyraa Nicole LLC, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My Brand is Tyraa Nicole LLC, I have been building this brand since 2005 when I first started in real estate. I was able to start Tyraa Nicole Property Management (property management company) as well as Tyraa Nicole Properties (Real Estate Brokerage) under this brand and grow them to be marketable companies in which I was able to recently sell in a joint venture with Home365 in which I am now the general manager and chief broker for the state of Michigan.
Through Home365 we offer all forms of real estate services including property management on all levels. Our goal is to be that go-to company for all Investors not only for purchasing but also for property management. I myself specialize in working with investor clients and doing everything I can to make their investing experience enjoyable. This has always been my goal and still is.
I am known for my hard work ethic and just being a go-getter. When people see me, they often ask do I sleep… I just work really hard and don’t stop until the job is done and I am known as a businesswoman, my slogan is “We Hustle Different” this means we stand out from what everyone else is doing and we outwork everyone.
What sets me apart from others is that I actually care about all of my clients’ investments as if it was my own. I never did any of this for monetary reasons it has always be primarily to assist and the money is a bonus. I am most proud of brand-wise just being able to grow companies and make them sells worthy and marketable. Also being able to just be consistent and competitive in today’s market and be a known name and brand makes me happy and want to continue giving my contribution to this world.
I would like readers to know that everything I do is coming from a genuine place in wanting to assist and just contribute what I can to this world rather it motivates or encourages the next person or if it’s just to assist an investor or home buyer with their next purchase. It’s one of my ways of giving back.
Any big plans?
My future plans includes continue to raise two teenage girls into womanhood and setting a good example for them to be successful women. Also, I plan to start non-profits that will assist other women and young women to be successful business owners as well.
Also, my next business venture is starting a real estate school that’s my next big thing! look out!!!
And finally, I have developed an App to help connect renters with owners and I am now looking for investors to get the App running to its best abilities so look out for more about that soon!
