Today we’d like to introduce you to Tikresha Warren.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Hey there, my name is Tikresha Warren I originally started doing hair my freshman year in college attending Wayne State University. I use to do my own hair and people would ask me who did your hair can you do mine and 1 client went to 5 clients then I just kept going, my sophomore year I got pregnant with my daughter and I dropped out a college I didn’t know what I was going to do I just kept my faith and kept doing hair, I worked out of family members houses until I get could get my own house and I was a home based stylist for years. My clientele grew so much I finally stepped on faith and went to a salon. My clients would always ask me how to keep up with they hair at home and that’s what made me think of my business Cloe Cosmetics and from there the magic began.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road has definitely been bumpy. My daughter was diagnosed with epilepsy at the age of 1. Being a full time mom to a child with a disability and trying to juggle being a full time stylist was definitely hard some days. As years progressed I encountered my own health problems, I was recently diagnosed with heart failure last year in September 2024 which was life changing and challenging
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I started my Business Cloe Cosmetics named after my beautiful daughter so when she gets older she will have a business already set for her so she doesn’t have to worry about anything, generational wealth, also my clients would always ask me for certain products I recommend and one day I though why not become a one stop shop and have everything my clients need and they can get it right from me. What sets me apart from others is I’m authentic, no matter what I stay true to me. My proudest moments are getting my brand in local beauty supplies literally a dream come true. I want people to know when they support my brand they are supporting generational wealth for my daughter epilepsy will never get in her way we as a village got her back .
Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
For anybody starting out always remember if you don’t take your brand serious nobody will, don’t be scared to network, don’t be discouraged when you hear no keep going, pray have faith. Don’t be scared to invest and take risk. Make everything count. Give back to your community and they will pour into you.
