Today we’d like to introduce you to Supacha Thongsuwan.
Hi Supacha, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Everyone has a unique story to tell, but I didn’t start sharing mine until 2024. I was on a plane, traveling to Thailand, escaping sadness with a broken heart. While looking out the window and wiping my tears, a lady next to me said, “Sadness doesn’t stay with us forever.” She shared her story of how she beat brain cancer and is on a work trip to the Philippines, celebrating her dream job, living her best life. She asked if I have Instagram, I said that I do, it’s @ms.bualotus, but I don’t use it. She said, “Record your journey, you’ll be amazed at where life can take you.”
At that time, I made one post in the last four years. I had no idea what to start posting about. I wasn’t interesting. I had no opinion about anything. I couldn’t even tell you what color I liked because I didn’t feel that my existence mattered. I guess I took a photo at the Chicago airport earlier that day, which I used as the start of my content creator journey.
I started taking daily photos of myself after not liking how I looked for many years; it trained me to find ways to feel beautiful about myself. I started thinking about what I would do each day so I could have something to post on Instagram; it trained me to get excited about living each day. I started writing captions about my feelings after being a robot and living life on autopilot for a long time; it trained me to get in touch with my emotions and process unhealed wounds. I started sharing all parts of me authentically because let’s see who’s there to listen, one is better than none I thought. It taught me that it’s ok to not be a perfectionist, just laugh more, and there are always people who will laugh along with me. Turns out I’m very funny and can laugh very loudly too!
I posted about myself every day and eventually started recording videos. Content creation was no longer something I had to do, but became my creative outlet and an integral part of my daily life. I decided that I was going to intentionally create a new happy life, just like how I happily create each piece of content.
I pursued my childhood dream of being a farmers market vendor by selling my top secret homemade Thai spice blends called Sutol Spice at the YLNI Farmers Market in Fort Wayne, IN. I did that for a few months and discovered that my favorite part of being at the market was filming content and storytelling through social media instead of selling spices. It led me to start a new content creator business, Intend Creative, where I consult small business startups on digital transformation, promote non-profits & businesses, represent brand partners as an ambassador, and organize community events.
Now my mission is to spread joy and happiness to the world. I share my experiences on social media of my journey of becoming Catholic – “go live the life you’re meant to” He said, singing in choir, and share the light as a baptismal candle artist at St.Vincent de Paul Catholic Parish in Fort Wayne, IN. I joined a group of 30 volunteers at the Huntertown Food Bank serving the Allen County population; nobody should be hungry. I’m a part of a 1.2 million global network of people committed to take action to create lasting change in making the world a better place through Rotary. I use my content creation passion to serve in building a service oriented community at the Rotary Club of Huntertown and serve on the Rotary District 6540 Public Image Committee as Co-Chair to increase clubs and public awareness on how to get involved.
I was able to meet and build meaningful relationships with so many people that I wouldn’t have had the opportunity to learn from otherwise through my content creation journey. I was able to build confidence through having an online presence. I was able to build an entirely new happy life that the sad girl crying on the plane version of me wouldn’t have imagined, all thanks to content creation. True happiness is made from appreciation for what we’re able to create that gives us joy, and being able to share them with each other. Cheers to many more years of happiness to come!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Sometimes I feel like I live a triple life. The first serious life is as a Project Manager, a professional career life I excelled at and proudly built. The second life is living the life of service through Christ and through Rotary. The third life is my Content Creator and Entrepreneur life. Less than 30% of the people I personally know truly know and understand all three. I sometimes can’t keep up with all three parts of my life on top of the personal life that I spend time discovering and improving every day. I often ask myself, who am I really? Why am I doing all this? What am I getting out of each part of these separate lives?
My story of what defines me changes with time. My content changes with time. The people who inspire me change with time. I most likely will not have the same answer each time I ask myself these questions, but the one thing that has never changed was I will keep doing whatever I do as long as it makes me happy. Not everyone needs to understand. Not every question needs an answer for. The point is for me to enjoy each day. Every day is a new start. Do everything passionately and live authentically. That’s the true gift of the new life that I’m meant to live and share.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I create social media content and website for non-profits & businesses along with digital transformation consultation.
What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
Nobody’s path and timeline is the same because we’re all different. That’s why it’s so essential for me to understand what my core values are and who I am as a person. The most important lesson I learned was that time spent on self-development is the most valuable. Everything starts from within. Before I began my search for happiness and my content creation journey, I didn’t like myself in terms of how I had allowed others to treat me negatively. If I didn’t believe that I deserved better, then better would never happen. In order to spread joy, I needed to create joy from within. It’s impossible to be joyful all the time, but I believe that every curveball is a reroute to a better path as long as we learn from it. When the joy battery is low, then it’s probably a good idea to borrow some from others and go recharge. Then when I’m happy again, I share my joy. That’s why every single one of us matters. Doing things alone is alright, I’m efficient, but being able to create and share with others amplifiies the impact even more.
