Hi Stephanie, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I have always loved animals. I though I would be a vet tech but still wasn’t 100% sure. So instead I decided to attend dog grooming school in the mean time. I started my education at the Michigan School of Canine Cosmetology, in Lansing, in 2005. I officially started my career at Pet Smart grooming salon in Saginaw in 2006. In 2008 I started Pretty Paws Mobile Grooming. I worked tireless to grow the business until 2012 when i had my first daughter. I cut back some of my services areas and created a better work, life balance. 2017 I relaced my old mobile grooming van with a brand new one. I now have about 100 clients and 150 dog that i groom on a set schedule and I love it so much!
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
NO, the first 2-3 years where the hardest. I had to learn how to do all the general maintenance on the van and on the conversion part too! Winter was ruff with having to keep the van warm over night so the pipes wouldn’t freeze. Learning to schedule accordingly to makes my routes tight to be more efficient took time. Also mechanical breakdowns that where unexpected. Finding good mechanics and people to help at the drop of the hat where key to staying on the road working. Building a heated garage to keep the van helped immensely. Now 17 years later, I am still always learning how to do things better and more efficient.

Pretty Paws Mobile Grooming LLC is a luxury service for your dog. It’s a way to pamper your dog without having to leave home or have them sit in a crate for hours. My van is a fully equipped state of the art grooming salon on wheels. It is completely self contained with its own water and electricity. Dogs are done one at a time straight through with no distractions. Your pet is completely hand dried and never in a kennel. This pampering service is usually completed in 45 min-1 hr, depending on breed and condition of the dog’s coat. All you need to provide is a space for the van to park.

- Small dogs 11-20lbs $135+
- Medium dosgs 21-40lbs $170+
