Today we’d like to introduce you to Sherese Patton. 

Hi Sherese, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
I first began when I graduated in September of 2019 with my Master’s Degree in Public Relations. Like most people who graduate college, I knew what I wanted to do, I just needed to find the opportunities available to do it. After many interviews with companies that offered no real PR opportunities (or at least what I know to be PR), I decided to strike out on my own and began doing Freelance PR work. 

Now I am collaborating with another local PR Specialists doing some event coordination and PR work as well as doing work for my own clientele that emerges. 

It has taken some time, but I have been blessed to do what I love! 

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
On January 1, 2020. I had finally taken the proper time to plan out my strategy on how I wanted to gain new clients for myself and be able to gain more visibility for myself, and then we got quarantined. So of course, everything came to a screeching halt for a few days until I figured out how I could still keep moving forward. 

I soon figured out the new craze called, Zoom, and began holding online consultations for those who were looking for ways to keep their businesses going but didn’t know how to pivot to make it work. So, the work continued! 

It has been quite the roller-coaster ride, and I am not looking to get off any time soon!

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
I just try and understand people and try and understand why they are where they are in their own journey. I think when you understand them and begin to build a relationship with them, that allows me to successfully do my job. I think that is the most important to me.
