Four Directions Alchemy began as a ‘what if?’ moment. In 2018, faced with a conventional career path, I asked myself a pivotal question: ‘What if I pursued my passion instead?’ A casual conversation with her mother sparked the idea of a metaphysical marketplace in Ludington, and within months, the dream became reality. By October 2018, the building was purchased, and in July 2019, Four Directions Alchemy opened its doors.

My journey wasn’t a traditional one. From a young mother to a business owner, I’ve navigated a colorful path, drawing on my life experiences to build a unique spiritual growth center. Today, Four Directions Alchemy stands as a testament to my vision, offering a diverse range of services, from spiritual coaching and energy healing to a curated selection of metaphysical tools and local artisan crafts. The business has expanded online, providing digital products and remote services, and continues to grow. My focus remains on empowering individuals on their spiritual journeys and fostering a supportive community.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Sarah’s entrepreneurial journey has been one of organic growth, with each of her businesses emerging from customer needs and her own evolving interests. While balancing multiple ventures hasn’t been overly difficult, as they’ve grown naturally from Four Directions Alchemy, she recognizes the need for streamlining. She’s currently working to consolidate all services under the Live Vibrant @ Four Directions Alchemy umbrella, creating a more seamless customer experience.

Introducing a metaphysical shop to a small community presented its own unique challenges. While Four Directions Alchemy has been largely embraced, there’s still a segment of the population hesitant to explore its offerings. However, Sarah remains optimistic, seeing a steady increase in local patronage each year.

Online expansion has been strategically limited. Sarah focuses on enhancing her existing digital offerings, like classes and video meetings, rather than expanding the retail selection online. This allows her to maintain a strong local presence while still reaching a wider audience.

Finding and retaining local holistic practitioners for shared space has been challenging. Due to the small area, she primarily rents the space for individual events, fostering a dynamic and ever-changing environment.

Economic fluctuations have also impacted the business. For the first time, service offerings are outpacing retail sales, requiring Sarah to adapt her business model.

Time management has been crucial. Sarah quickly realized the importance of delegation, hiring professionals for bookkeeping, sales, and website management. She also strategically adjusts shop hours based on sales metrics, maximizing efficiency.

Setting personal and professional boundaries has been a continuous learning process. Sarah has had to be strict with herself, adhering to business hours and avoiding overextending her time.

Finally, effectively marketing three distinct businesses to a single audience has been a challenge. Sarah is working to create a unified brand message that resonates with her diverse clientele, while also keeping her backend operations streamlined.

We’ve been impressed with Four Directions Alchemy LLC, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Sarah isn’t just a business owner; she’s a community builder, a life coach, a ceremony officiant, and a personal concierge, all rolled into one. Her journey is a testament to the power of following one’s passion and creating a life that’s both vibrant and fulfilling.

At the heart of her work is Four Directions Alchemy, a metaphysical marketplace and spiritual growth center in Ludington. More than just a shop, it’s a sanctuary for those seeking spiritual tools, guidance, and community. Sarah offers a diverse range of services, including spiritual life coaching, energy healing, and personalized ceremonies, alongside a curated selection of crystals, tarot cards, and local artisan crafts. The center is known for its inclusive and accessible approach, offering donation-based meditations and a community library, fostering a spirit of shared learning.

But Sarah’s vision extends beyond the metaphysical. Through Live Vibrant Services, she shares her 30+ years of personal growth exploration, offering life coaching, wellness advocacy, and personalized ceremonies for life’s significant milestones. She believes in finding joy in the everyday, and her approach is grounded in practical wisdom and heartfelt connection.

Recognizing the need for practical support in her community, Sarah also founded Procura Concierge. As a lifelong West Michigan resident, she understands the unique needs of both year-round residents and seasonal visitors. Procura Concierge offers a wide range of services, from home management and project coordination to personal shopping and local resource guidance. Her background in mental and medical health ensures discretion and meticulous attention to detail.

Whether she’s crafting a personalized wedding ceremony, guiding a client through a spiritual awakening, or ensuring a seasonal home is ready for its owners, Sarah approaches her work with passion, creativity, and a deep understanding of the human experience. She’s a connector, a facilitator, and a guide, empowering individuals to live their most vibrant lives, both practically and spiritually.

Sarah’s work is driven by a desire to simplify life’s complexities and celebrate its unique beauty. She believes in creating ceremonies that reflect individual stories, in finding joy in everyday moments, and in building a community where everyone feels supported. What are your plans for the future?
Looking ahead, Sarah is focused on deepening the connection with her community, both locally and online. She’s excited to launch weekly guided meditations and prayers, sharing them through an upcoming platform revealed via email and social media. This initiative will expand Four Directions Alchemy’s reach, bringing spiritual guidance and support to a wider audience.

Within the next year, Sarah plans to streamline her businesses, bringing Ceremonies by Sarah, Procura Concierge, and all holistic services under the Live Vibrant @ Four Directions Alchemy umbrella. This integration will create a more cohesive and accessible experience for her clients, while Four Directions Alchemy continues to serve as a vibrant retail space and hub for local holistic practitioners. Procura Concierge will continue to focus on serving the local area, Mason County and its surrounding communities, providing the same high level of service.

Sarah is also passionate about creating transformative experiences through retreats. She’s actively building a retreat network, aiming to expand her ceremony offerings and bring people together for immersive experiences. This aligns with her vision of fostering personal growth and community connection.

As always, Sarah remains committed to lifelong learning. She’s currently exploring resources like ‘Master Class’ and ‘Insight Timer,’ which are enriching her coaching practice and informing all aspects of her work. She believes that continuous growth is essential for both personal and professional development, and she’s eager to share her evolving knowledge with her clients and community.
