Today we’d like to introduce you to Maury Page.
Hi Maury, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My story started with photography. Around 2010, I began experimenting with photography on my iPhone and quickly became interested in capturing moments and telling stories visually. That eventually led me to create a website for my photography, and while building it, I discovered that I really enjoyed web design too.
What started as a creative hobby slowly turned into something much bigger. I began designing websites for other people and businesses, and over time that grew into Mevo Creative Studios.
Today, Mevo focuses primarily on custom website design, along with photography, video, SEO, and helping businesses improve how they present themselves online. I’ve had the opportunity to work with businesses and organizations in Michigan and across the country, and one of the things I enjoy most is learning what makes each business unique and finding the best way to communicate that through design and storytelling.
I never really set out with a plan to become an entrepreneur. It happened pretty organically by continuing to follow the things I enjoyed, learning new skills, and saying yes to opportunities along the way. The technology and tools have changed a lot since I started, but the goal has stayed pretty consistent: create great work, take care of clients, and help businesses tell their story in a way that connects with people.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t always been a smooth road. Like most small businesses, there have been seasons where things felt really busy and others where I had to work harder to find the next opportunity. One of the biggest challenges has been learning how to balance the creative side of the work with actually running a business.
When I started, I was focused mostly on creating good work. Over time, I had to learn the other side of entrepreneurship too, things like communication, managing projects, setting expectations, staying organized, and building long-term relationships with clients.
Another challenge has been keeping up with how quickly the digital world changes. Web design, search, social media, and now AI are constantly evolving, so I’ve had to keep learning and adapting instead of getting comfortable doing things the same way.
There have definitely been mistakes and difficult moments along the way, but I think a lot of growth has come from those experiences. They’ve taught me to be patient, stay consistent, listen to clients, and keep improving. I’ve learned that building something worthwhile usually takes time, and a lot of the progress comes from simply continuing to show up and do the work well.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Mevo Creative Studios ?
Mevo Creative Studios is a Michigan-based creative studio focused on helping businesses build a stronger presence online. Our primary focus is custom website design, but we also work with clients on photography, video, SEO, AI search optimization, and other digital content.
We specialize in creating clean, modern websites that are easy to navigate, mobile-friendly, and built around the personality of each business. I’ve never wanted Mevo to be a company that simply takes a template, changes the colors, adds a logo, and calls it finished. I really enjoy learning about a business, understanding what makes it different, and creating something that feels unique to them.
One thing that sets Mevo apart is the ability to bring several creative services together. Because I have a background in photography and video as well as web design, I can help create the visual content that actually brings a website to life. Instead of relying heavily on stock photography, we can often tell a company’s story using their real people, products, services, and environment.
Customer service is also a huge part of the Mevo brand. I want clients to feel like they have someone they can actually reach, someone who understands their business and will continue to be there after the website launches. Some of the relationships I’m most proud of are with clients I’ve worked with for years.
Another area we’re continuing to grow in is search. SEO has always been important, but the way people find businesses is changing quickly with AI. We’re now helping businesses think beyond traditional Google search and make sure their websites clearly communicate who they are, what they do, and why they’re relevant so they can be better understood by both search engines and AI-powered platforms.
Brand-wise, I’m probably most proud that Mevo has grown while still feeling personal. I never wanted it to feel like a large, disconnected agency. The goal has always been pretty simple: create work I’m proud of, treat people well, keep learning, and help businesses tell their story in a way that connects with people.
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
Without a doubt, my wife and family deserve a tremendous amount of credit. Building a business takes a lot of time, energy, and attention, and having a family that believes in me and supports what I’m doing has made all the difference.
My wife has been my biggest supporter from the beginning. She’s encouraged me through the exciting seasons as well as the challenging ones, and having someone who believes in what I’m building has given me the confidence to keep pushing forward and taking chances.
My family is also a huge part of why I do what I do. They keep everything in perspective and remind me that success is about much more than growing a business. I’m incredibly grateful that Mevo has given me the opportunity to do work I love while also being present with the people who matter most to me.
I also have to give a lot of credit to the clients who have trusted me over the years. Many have continued working with Mevo for a long time, referred other businesses, and supported the company as it has grown. I definitely wouldn’t be where I am today without my wife, my family, and the clients who have believed in me and Mevo along the way.
