Today we’d like to introduce you to Matthew Sandoval
Matthew, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My company started as a passion project. I never intended to start a company or even sell soap at all. I had many friends and family with sensitive skin and so I wanted to make them something that they could use, something that did not have all of the random chemicals and preservatives that so many companies seem so inclined to use. So after a lot of research, and experimenting; I crafted my first batch of soap, and the results were astonishing. A year of soap-making highlighted the need for products designed specifically for sensitive skin. It was then that I decided to create my company with the goal to create good formulas, with good and high-quality ingredients, all designed specifically to be gentle on the body while using all-natural and sustainable ingredients, most of which are sourced from American suppliers.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The journey has been nice so far, I truly enjoy what I do and have liked helping people find solutions to help their skin. There have been a few struggles here and there though, mainly learning as much as I can about specific sensitivities and finding good ways to market my soaps in a market that has many different types. I think one thing that has helped me significantly is the quality my product brings. Every soap is cold-processed, and handmade which results in very gentle and unique bars of soap.
We’ve been impressed with Randio LLC, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I personally craft every recipe, batch, and even package each soap myself. It’s time-consuming but rewarding. I specialize in making soap of all kinds for people with sensitive skin. Our signature product is Cloud Coal, it’s a soap infused with activated charcoal made from our American hardwood. I’m particularly proud of this recipe because it’s incredibly gentle, long-lasting, and doesn’t bleed charcoal everywhere like a lot of its competitors. Aside from that, I make everything from goat milk soaps to custom-made soaps where people can choose their ingredients, send them in, and I’ll make the ingredients into a soap that works for them. I actually work with a few businesses in this way where they choose the specific ingredients for the products they want to carry. I’m passionate about transforming diverse ingredients into luxurious, functional bars of soap. It’s incredibly rewarding to see the joy they bring to people with sensitive skin.
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
Luck has played a role in terms of the people I was able to meet in my life. If I never met my friends, I probably would have never started making soap to begin with. Some of my friends even kept pushing me to do better and to get more done, and without them, I maybe would have stopped somewhere on the way to here. However, I kept working hard, and have kept the friends I’ve been so lucky to meet in my heart this whole journey, and now I’m here.
